Wrocławski Sound 2013: a conference ahead of the fifth showcase of local artists

The fifth Wrocławski Sound was introduced through an invitation to a press conference at Impart. The article explores the idea of a local-artist showcase where established bands meet niche projects, premieres and musical experiments.

You are warmly invited to the press conference for the 5th Wrocławski Sound festival, taking place on Tuesday 22 October 2013 at 11.00 in Galeria ImpArt, ul. Mazowiecka 17, Wrocław. Confirmed participants include Krzysztof Maj, General Director of Wrocław’s Impart 2016 Festival Office; Tomasz Lektarski, Programme and Artistic Director of Wrocławski Sound; and artists appearing at this anniversary edition of the showcase.

This year’s Wrocławski Sound takes place on 6 and 7 December 2013, as usual at Impart. We will announce the performing musicians at the press conference.

Wrocławski Sound has become a musical hallmark of Lower Silesia’s capital. Founded in 2009, the festival showcases artists connected with Wrocław who draw inspiration from its multicultural atmosphere. Its aim is to introduce audiences to both niche and popular art created in our city by local artists. Over recent years, Impart’s stages have therefore welcomed unique projects created especially for the showcase. Reunited groups such as Formacja Chłopięca Legitymacje and Karbido have also played the festival. Wrocławski Sound has so far featured L.U.C., Marcelina, Mikromusic, Oszibarack, Legitymacje, Kormorany, Me Myself and I and many others.

The showcase's two days present the city's richness, with bands working in diverse styles appearing on Impart's stages. The festival allows opposite poles of art to meet, often inspiring further innovative projects.
