PUNK-ROCK LEGENDS – THE EXPLOITED AT WROCK FOR FREEDOM 2022

Join us at Centrum Historii Zajezdnia on 26 August for the summer edition of wROCK for Freedom 2022. At the former bus depot, where Wrocław's Solidarity movement was born in August 1980, true punk rock legends will perform: THE EXPLOITED, DEZERTER, KSU and LENIWIEC

A PUNK ROCK LEGEND IN WROCŁAW!

THE EXPLOITED are the best-known band of British punk rock’s second wave, led from the beginning by demonic singer Wattie Buchan. Their live “On Stage” was the first international punk-rock album officially released in Poland. Their debut, “Punks Not Dead”, topped Britain’s independent chart in 1981. Despite numerous line-up changes, they have existed continuously for over 40 years, and red-mohawked singer Wattie has become a living punk icon.

DEZERTER — a punk rock band formed in Warsaw in May 1981. They adopted the then-provocative name SS-20, after Soviet nuclear-armed missiles, which they were forced to change during martial law. Their recent 40th-anniversary tour was a major success both artistically and in attendance, confirming Dezerter's standing on the Polish scene.

KSU are a Polish punk-rock band formed in Ustrzyki Dolne in 1977. Over more than 40 years, they have officially released 11 albums. More than 30 pirate and bootleg releases have also appeared, mainly featuring live recordings. Eugeniusz “Siczka” Olejarczyk has been the band’s mainstay from the beginning. Initially playing typical punk rock, the style with which they are widely associated, they gradually developed a sound of their own, closer to rock in its broader sense.

LENIWIEC, the Jelenia Góra band playing punk, rock, reggae, ska and folk, will open the punk-rock legends’ concert.
