A GRAND CELEBRATION AT CENTENNIAL HALL

11 November 2023

We will have the chance to sing timeless Polish hits together and share the joy of Independence Day. Let us celebrate together: it is a perfect occasion for a family concert outing, honouring our independent homeland in a special way.

T.LOVE

T. Love, one of Poland’s most important rock bands, returned to the stage after a 5-year break. In 2022, they released a new album, “HAU! HAU!”, and played dozens of anniversary concerts across Poland. Fans had waited seven years for another T.Love album. Most of the new record’s compositions are by Janek Benedek, who returned to the band while the album was being made.

“HAU! HAU!” was promoted by the singles “Pochodnia”, “Ponura Żniwiarka” and “Ja Ciebie kocham”. On the first, Muniek Staszczyk was joined by guest vocalist Kasia Sienkiewicz of Kwiat Jabłoni. “Pochodnia” is a song about the fire of love, full of memories and classic eighties guitar sounds. Together with Marta Kacprzak’s video, featuring remarkable archive images of the band, it offers a perfect prelude to what awaits T.Love fans in 2023.

At the concerts, we will hear T.Love’s latest tracks alongside hits that have accompanied us for years.

IRA

IRA are one of Polish rock’s most important bands. Each album sells many thousands of copies, and the diversity of genres they explore wins the hearts of fans of heavier sounds and rock ballads alike. IRA formed in Radom in 1987 and debuted at the National Festival of Polish Song in Opole just a year later. Their first album, IRA, appeared in 1989. The 1991 release Mój dom, followed by 1993 and the concert record Live, enjoyed extraordinary success, propelling the group into the front rank of Polish rock bands.

In the second half of the nineties, the band changed direction, exploring somewhat heavier sounds on “Znamię”. In 1996, following the release of “Ogrody”, guitarist and founder Kuba Płucisz left, and a few months later IRA suspended activity. After a 7-year break, the group returned to the stage and embarked on the “IRA – Wracamy!” tour. The crowds of fans it attracted reassured the musicians that they had made the right decision.

ELEKTRYCZNE GITARY

The band formed in Warsaw in 1989 at the initiative of guitarist Rafał Kwaśniewski and bassist and keyboardist Piotr Łojek. Guitarist, lyricist, singer and composer Kuba Sienkiewicz soon joined the duo. Their first concert took place at Warsaw’s Hybrydy club in 1990. In 1991, their first recordings appeared on radio. “Włosy”, “Jestem z miasta” and “Wszystko chuj” brought recognition. Zic Zac released Elektryczne Gitary’s debut album in 1992, and Wielka radość quickly went Gold.

The second album, A ty co, appeared in 1993 with hits “Nie pij Piotrek”, “Dzieci” and “Dylematy”, achieving Platinum status. That year, the group played Chicago and New York. Kuba Sienkiewicz’s solo Od morza do morza followed in 1994, with some songs entering Elektryczne Gitary’s concert repertoire. Huśtawki appeared in 1995 without success. Chałtury followed in 1996.

In 1997, the group returned to the charts with “Na krzywy ryj”. That same year, Elektryczne Gitary created the soundtrack for Juliusz Machulski’s film “Kiler”. In 1999, they wrote music for its sequel, “Kiler-ów 2-óch”. Elektryczne Gitary performed in Canada in 2000, and appeared at the Opole festival in June that year. The event made it possible to release the album “Słodka Maska”.

In 2002, the band recorded the soundtrack to “Kariera Nikosia Dyzmy”, directed by Jacek Bromski. The recordings and new versions of their hits appeared on the album Kariera Nikosia Dyzmy. The album Atomistyka followed in 2006. Most of the melodies and lyrics were written by the other members of the band. The album Historia was released in 2010, followed by Nic mnie nie rusza in 2012.
