A CONCERT SERIES FOR INDEPENDENCE DAY AT CENTENNIAL HALL
As every year, we invite you to a special series of wROCK for Freedom concerts (autumn edition) marking the anniversary of Poland regaining independence. On 11 November, Wrocław's Centennial Hall will host LADY PANK, loved by audiences across generations, and KOMBII. The following day, 12 November, Finnish legends and supergroup APOCALYPTICA will perform. KULT will close the celebrations on 13 November.

THE AUTUMN EDITION OF WROCK FOR FREEDOM
As always, we will invite audiences to sing timeless Polish hits together. In Wrocław, we have celebrated important historical anniversaries joyfully for years! Both seated and standing tickets will be available.
Independence Day is an excellent occasion to plan a family outing to a concert of Polish hits.
LADY PANK, KOMBII (11 NOVEMBER 2022)
Founded in 1982, LADY PANK have triumphed on the Polish music scene from the very beginning. The number of hits Borysewicz and Panasewicz have created with the band demonstrates their enduring fame and timeless appeal. “Mniej niż zero”, “Kryzysowa narzeczona”, “Tańcz głupia, tańcz”, “Mała Lady Punk”, “Zamki na piasku”, “Zawsze tam, gdzie ty”, “Sztuka latania”, “Wciąż bardziej obcy”, “Vademecum skauta”, “Zostawcie Titanica”, “Marchewkowe pole”, “Tacy sami”, “Na co komu dziś” and “Stacja Warszawa” have become permanent parts of Poland’s popular-music canon, raising two generations of listeners.
KOMBII are one of the most recognisable and decorated bands on Poland's music scene. Grzegorz Skawiński's distinctive voice draws crowds to outdoor concerts, while the multimedia and lighting presentation makes a strong impression. Hits performed on stage include “Słodkiego miłego życia”, “Black and white”, “Nasze rendez-vous” and “Pokolenie”
APOCALYPTICA (12 November 2022)
Armed with cellos, Apocalyptica redrew the boundaries between rock, metal and classical music in an unprecedented way. They debuted in the 1990s with “Plays Metallica by Four Cellos” and now have nine albums laden with gold and platinum awards. The latest, “Cell-0”, recorded after a five-year break and only just released, returns to their roots with their first entirely instrumental material in almost two decades. During the Wrocław performance, they will play a career-spanning selection documenting 24 years of musical activity.
Few bands have captured defiant individualism as well as Finland’s Apocalyptica. Four virtuosos from Helsinki’s Sibelius Academy formed the group in 1993, and just three years later the quartet were on everyone’s lips. Their 1996 “Plays Metallica By Four Cellos”, arranging the legendary Metallica’s songs for cellos, was a sensation. They expanded heavy metal’s boundaries with extraordinary ease and have regularly sold out concert halls ever since.
Two years after their debut, the Finns built on their success with the excellent “Inquisition Symphony”, which featured their own compositions alongside covers of Sepultura, Faith No More and Pantera. With “Cult” in 2000, the band established their complete independence, focusing primarily on original material. Since then, they have released carefully conceived, varied recordings featuring guest stars from very different musical backgrounds.
The band’s albums have sold more than 4 million copies worldwide. Apocalyptica have built a reputation for attracting both heavy-metal fans and lovers of classical sounds, offering both euphoric experiences. Metallica covers, musical tributes to Wagner accompanied by an international symphony orchestra, collaborations with members of Slipknot, Soulfly, Slayer, H.I.M. and Bush: these wild Finns reconcile musical genres like no one before them.
KULT (13 November 2022)
We meet at Wrocław’s Centennial Hall on 13 November. The Polish rock icon, led by a charismatic singer, returns to Wrocław.
Neither Kult nor Kazik Staszewski needs an introduction. Present on the Polish scene for more than 35 years, the band have indisputably become a cult act. Powerful lyrics, energy and their unique, characteristic combination of guitars, brass and keyboards make them one of Poland’s most recognisable groups. They have an extensive discography and the acclaim of critics and legions of fans. Since the beginning, their songs have tackled the most important issues and exposed the truth without hesitation, taking a bitter view of the reality we inhabit. Despite the passing years, they remain relevant. They tour constantly, delivering more than two hours of excellent music at their shows.
All concerts take place at Centennial Hall, ul. Wystawowa 1, Wrocław.
