Kari Amirian in Wrocław: original indie pop and the debut “Daddy Says I’m Special”
Kari Amirian combines indie pop with acoustic experiments and a cool, melancholic atmosphere. Her debut “Daddy Says I’m Special” contains twelve original songs, developed through her work as singer, composer and producer.

Kari Amirian is a young Polish singer, composer and producer hailed by journalists and listeners as one of 2011’s most interesting new discoveries. She graduated from the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw. Her first album, “Daddy Says I’m Special”, features 12 tracks with an atmosphere recalling the cool, melancholy music of Scandinavian artists such as Stina Nordenstam and Lykke Li. With a band of young multi-instrumentalists, Amirian combines indie-pop, acoustic and experimental music in a mature, original way. She oversees the entire album-making process herself, from composition through recording to production.

Listening to Kari inevitably brings to mind world-class singer-songwriters such as Lykke Li, Feist, Bat For Lashes, Cat Power and St. Vincent. Like them, she combines power with extraordinary sensitivity, allowing her songs to captivate even discerning listeners. Phenomenal and extraordinary: these are the impressions Amirian leaves on audiences. Noticed by Katarzyna Nosowska, she was invited to participate in this year’s Męskie Granie festival. Amirian has also performed at Open’er Festival, Malta Festival, Re:Wizje and Slot Art Festival.
