Guitar Guinness World Record 2017: the fifteenth attempt and “Hey Joe” together in Wrocław’s Market Square
For the fifteenth time (!), we will meet to play “Hey Joe” together on guitars and attempt another record. We do not succeed every year, but that is not really the point: it is the atmosphere surrounding this beautiful undertaking. This year, we need 7,357 guitars to break the record. Remember that participation in the Market Square event is free, and any guitar can count towards the Guinness World Record: electric, classical, acoustic or bass, alongside related instruments including ukulele, balalaika and banjo.
WE WILL PLAY “HEY JOE” ON GUITARS TOGETHER
As tradition dictates, the Guitar Guinness World Record 2017 will take place on 1 May in Wrocław’s Market Square.
Participant registration, guest concerts and guitar workshops begin at 10:00, with the attempt to break the record starting at 16:00.
If you cannot play “Hey Joe”, do not worry. Leszek Cichoński, the mastermind behind it all and patron of the Guinness Guitar Record, will run workshops allowing everyone to become part of another entry in the Book at 16:00!
Brilliant artists will visit the Market Square stage. We will hear Grzegorz Skawiński, Jan Borysewicz, Michał Jelonek with his band, Greg Koch, Leburn Maddox, Paweł Domagała, Piotr Nalepa, Sebastian Riedel, Andrzej Nowak (TSA), Mietek Jurecki (Budka Suflera), Jacek Krzaklewski (Perfect), Leszek Cichoński and many other guitar masters from Poland and around the world.
