Guitar Guinness World Record 2014: a twelfth attempt and rock concerts on Wyspa Słodowa
As every year, Wrocław will become the guitar capital, seeking another Guinness Record with thousands of guitarists! On 1 May, Wyspa Słodowa will host Eric Burdon with The Animals, British rock legends Uriah Heep and Poland's Luxtorpeda, among others.

This year brings the 12th Guitar Guinness World Record as part of Thanks Jimi Festival. Each year, the iconic event gathers guitarists from Poland and Europe in Wrocław’s Market Square to attempt the Guinness World Record by playing Jimi Hendrix’s “Hey Joe” together. This year, they will try to beat their 2012 record, when 7,273 guitarists played simultaneously. Afterwards, everyone can attend concerts by international rock legends on Słodowa Island.
Ticket sales for the star concert opened almost three months before Thanks Jimi Festival. This year’s Wrocław event will feature Eric Burdon&The Animals, famous worldwide for the iconic “Dom Wschodzącego Słońca”, and hard-rock legends Uriah Heep, among others. Polish band Luxtorpeda have also joined the artists supporting the twelfth Guitar Guinness World Record. Singer and guitarist Robert “Litza” Friedrich, known from Acid Drinkers, Arka Noego and Kazik na Żywo, founded the group in 2010.
The band reached a wider audience in 2011 at Jarocin festival and Przystanek Woodstock. They have received numerous distinctions in many categories, while “Autystyczny” remained at the top of the charts on Polish Radio Three, Eska Rock and Antyradio. Further musicians performing at the Concert of Stars will be announced soon.
It is worth buying tickets quickly, as the promotional price of 45 złotych is available only until 20 March! Tickets can be purchased at Empik and Media Markt stores throughout Poland and online at www.biletin.pl. Subject to availability, tickets will also be sold immediately before the concert. As usual, record-attempt participants will enjoy very attractive discounts.
