Fismoll at City Sounds: “At Glade”, guitar and original songs from the 2013 debut

Fismoll – Poland’s hottest debut of recent months on the City Sounds stage!

One of this year's most surprising musical debuts will play a special concert at City Sounds. It will be Fismoll's first Wrocław appearance promoting his debut album, “At Glade”. Fismoll is a gifted 19-year-old, an excellent singer-songwriter and arranger, and a classical guitar student at Poznań's famous School of Talents.

Fismoll's debut album “At Glade” was released in June 2013 and immediately received an enthusiastic response from both the music community and listeners. Fismoll himself was hailed as the most interesting independent debut on the Polish songwriting scene.

Despite his young age, his abilities as a composer, arranger, singer and guitarist are extraordinary. Fans and journalists already place him without hesitation alongside Bon Iver, Sigur Ros, Ben Howard, Arvo Pärt and Olafur Arnalds.

Immediately after Marek Niedźwiecki heard Fismoll's first single, “Let's Play Birds”, it became Song of the Day on Polish Radio Three, which gave the album its prestigious patronage. More than 200 000 fans soon watched the video, leaving enthusiastic comments.

Journalists and musicians including Katarzyna Nosowska, Czesław Mozil, Marek Niedźwiecki, Piotr Bartyś and Artur Orzech are captivated by the young artist. Like listeners, they describe his music and talent as extraordinary.

Fismoll focuses on pure harmony and simplicity because, as he says, “sounds are not there to get in the way; they are there to be missed”. With this approach, his modest stage presence and an excellent set of compositions on his debut album, Fismoll attracted the attention of independent music fans in just a few months. The exceptionally enthusiastic reception he received at this year’s summer festivals confirmed it.

It is high time for Fismoll's first Wrocław club concert. Join us at Firlej, ul. Grabiszyńska 56, on Tuesday 29 October 2013. He will perform at City Sounds with his full live line-up, with visuals by Kolektyw Woom adding to the atmosphere.
