Fismoll at Świdnica Cultural Centre: original songs by the creator of “Let’s Play Birds”

Fismoll pairs acoustic guitar with a lyrical voice and intimate songwriting. The announcement of his concert at Świdnica Cultural Centre introduces Arkadiusz Glensk, the artist behind “Let’s Play Birds” and the debut album “At Glade”.

An extraordinary, utterly phenomenal artist of international calibre: Fismoll, of course. We will hear him on 10 November in the Theatre Hall of Świdnica Cultural Centre.

His work is compared to Ólafur Arnalds, Bon Iver and Sigur Rós. Fismoll, or Arkadiusz Glensk, perfectly demonstrates that young artists following an unpopular path can create plenty of positive excitement. Acoustic, lyrical music of the kind he makes is not among Polish listeners’ most frequent choices. Nevertheless, this twenty-year-old has achieved what many artists in popular genres can only dream of.

Just over a year has passed since the release of Fismoll’s debut album, “At Glade”. Intended as an intimate account of the world seen through the young artist’s eyes, the record made a considerable impact. Its lead single, “Let’s Play Birds”, was successful on the Trójka and Radio Merkury charts. The fairytale compositions earned him nominations at the Brand New Awards 2013, including Song of the Year and Album of the Year, as well as a Fryderyk nomination for Debut of the Year.

The artist performs with a band consisting of Kacper Budziszewski (acoustic guitar, electric guitar), Joanna Glensk (cello, vocals), Kristine Harutyunyan (violin), Robert Amirian (bass guitar, vocals) and Jakub Szydło (drums).

On 10 November, Świdnica audiences will have their first chance to hear songs from “At Glade” and material from the forthcoming album. It promises to be an extraordinary musical encounter.
