One Love Sound Fest — from a club to Centennial Hall

One Love Sound Fest grew out of Wrocław’s reggae scene and a desire to bring people together through music that crosses genre boundaries. LIONSTAGE helped create the festival, developing it from a club event into a project with an international programme.

Three venues, successive stages

The first edition took place in 2004 at the WZ club on Wolności Square. The following year the festival moved to Wytwórnia Filmów Fabularnych, and in 2006 it reached Centennial Hall, then known as Hala Ludowa. Each move brought a different scale and new organisational demands.

Programme and collaboration

Over subsequent editions, the stages welcomed artists from reggae, roots, dub, dancehall and related scenes. Performers included Anthony B, Jah Shaka, Inner Circle, Gentleman, Alpha Blondy and Junior Kelly, alongside Polish acts such as Vavamuffin, Natural Dread Killaz and Indios Bravos.

Preparing the festival brought programming together with technical planning, artist support, promotion and coordination with partners. The project remains an important part of LIONSTAGE’s history, illustrating how a local idea can grow with its audience across successive editions.
