One Love Sound Fest 2006 at Hala Ludowa: a third edition across two reggae stages

The third One Love Sound Fest in 2006 announced two reggae stages at Wrocław’s Hala Ludowa. The concert programme was complemented by films about reggae and Rastafarianism, photography exhibitions and workshops with Adrian Sherwood.

The third International Reggae Festival “One Love Sound Fest” takes place at Wrocław’s Hala Ludowa on 18 November 2006. This festival promises to be a breakthrough in every respect.

The previous One Love Sound Fest brought thousands of reggae fans eager to party into the halls of the Feature Film Studio. Attendance exceeded everyone's expectations. The organisers therefore decided to move: the festival's third edition will take place in the magnificent modernist interior of Wrocław's Hala Ludowa, which can hold up to 12 thousand people. The organisers' ambition is to stage the largest indoor reggae event in Eastern Europe!

The artistic direction of this extraordinary event also aims to break established festival conventions. There is therefore no room in the programme for burnt-out stars or artists who have already performed repeatedly in Poland. One Love aims to present the freshest, most ambitious and exciting projects from around the world. Audiences arriving at the Hall can expect a true feast of sound from two stages with excellent sound systems. Reggae, roots, dub, ragga, dancehall, digital experiments and traditional sounds in cutting-edge settings: this is the music to expect at Hala Ludowa. The festival will primarily feature young artists hailed as discoveries of recent years in different corners of the world. Alongside rising stars of international reggae, One Love will also present established artists performing entirely new projects.

Concerts are naturally not One Love’s only attraction. Numerous accompanying events will enrich the festival. In the specially prepared, air-conditioned One Love Cinema Max room, visitors can watch the latest documentaries and feature films about reggae and Rastafarianism, alongside unique performances by international reggae stars. The organisers also aim to educate, so workshops will feature speakers including Adrian Sherwood himself, master of the mixing desk, king of producers and living British reggae and dub legend!

Alongside workshops, there will be a multimedia talk on Rasta culture and reggae history. A specially prepared “Art Zone” will feature excellent photo exhibitions by Poland's finest photographers specialising in reggae culture. Tasty vegetarian food stalls will also be available to the audience.

The music and positive vibrations flowing from everywhere make this an unmissable event. One Love Sound Fest will warm hearts and make sitting still impossible on this special November evening. On 18 November, every reggae lover simply must come to Wrocław.
