INTERNATIONAL ACTS AT 3-MAJÓWKA 2024

DUB FX

Few artists embody the idea of a one-man show better than Benjamin Stanford, known as Dub FX. For those unfamiliar with his work, Dub FX is a street and studio artist and producer renowned for creating complex, impressive tracks entirely on his own. Using various vocal techniques and recording them into looping and sound-processing devices, Dub FX manipulates his voice in extraordinary ways, building a layered soundscape before the audience.

In 2006, as social media began gaining significance, Dub FX packed his bags, boarded a plane and left Melbourne to fulfil his dream of travelling through Europe. His musical talent and street performances were intended merely as a way of earning money to fund the adventure. The universe, however, had other plans.

“I intended to see as much of the world as possible and find inspiration to write an authentic set of songs. I could then use that music to seek a record deal, but I never imagined that my career could develop while I was travelling.”

Dub FX quickly realised that his unique process impressed passers-by. While most artists struggle for high-quality studio production, he built and layered distinctive pieces live and immediately. As people stopped to listen, he delivered meaningful, conscious messages through singing and rhymes. He engaged audiences emotionally while impressing them technically. These emotional street performances prompted crowds to buy his records on the spot.

Two years later, filmmaker Ben Dowden, known as ‘BD’, discovered Dub FX performing on the streets of Bristol. BD offered to film a performance and subsequently uploaded the videos “Love Someone” and “Flow” to YouTube, where they attracted more than 30 million views. Organisers from around the world immediately began contacting Dub FX, taking him from street performer to club and festival artist.

“I went from living in a van and driving to every gig, busking along the way, to travelling business class to some of the biggest festivals in the world.” Over the past thirteen years, Dub FX has released six records, sold more than 250,000 albums, headlined major festivals, amassed over 300 million YouTube views and built an impressive social-media presence, all without appearing on commercial radio or television.

DOG EAT DOG

They return to 3-Majówka with their forthcoming full-length album, “Free Radicals”. Fourteen explosive new tracks blend different musical genres while retaining their hard-rock roots. The singles “Lit Up”, “Never Give In” and “Man's Best Friend” deliver the huge guitars, incredible rhythms and catchy choruses for which they are known, while “Bar Down” explores new territory for a band eager to test the boundaries of its abilities and experience. Dog Eat Dog surprise with their range of tones, moods, dynamics and tempos, accompanied by inexhaustible energy and a positive attitude. “Free Radicals” demonstrates why many consider them pioneers of crossover. The cover was designed by Barcelona artist Marcos Cabrera.

After a long period devoted exclusively to touring, Dog Eat Dog finally return with the full-length “Free Radicals”… and it was worth the wait! Fourteen explosive, inspiring tracks combine diverse contemporary styles without forgetting their roots. The album surprises with its range of tones, moods, dynamics and tempos, accompanied by inexhaustible energy and positivity. Dog Eat Dog’s intercontinental line-up and unique approach to sound and performance have always made them worth seeing live. With “Free Radicals”, they remind listeners why so many consider them crossover pioneers.

STEVE 'N' SEAGULLS

A phenomenal band straight from Finland. Since 2011, they have won fans’ hearts worldwide, presenting familiar songs in unique bluegrass arrangements.

The Steve'N'Seagulls crew is famous for turning classics of metal, pop, alternative music and hip-hop into utterly unique works. Their creativity and incredible musical skills make every performance a real show, full of humour and unusual arrangements.

Their unique version of AC/DC's “Thunderstruck” has already delighted almost 170 million viewers on YouTube! Last year at POL'AND'ROCK festival, Steve 'N' Seagulls swept the audience into dancing from the very first notes.

FUN LOVIN’ CRIMINALS

Fun Lovin’ Criminals’ infectious mixture of cinematic hip-hop, rock ’n’ roll, blues-jazz and Latin soul arrived on New York’s music scene in 1996 with their multi-platinum debut album, “Come Find Yourself”, released by EMI Records. Their debut single, “Scooby Snacks”, known for sampling Tarantino films such as “Reservoir Dogs” and “Pulp Fiction”, spent 17 weeks on the Billboard chart and quickly went gold in the USA.

The band became an international success after settling in Britain, where their debut, “Come Find Yourself”, spent an incredible two years on the UK album chart. FLC gave an infamous, turbulent performance on Glastonbury's famous Pyramid main stage in '99, and the rest, as they say, is history.

Fun Lovin’ Criminals have released 6 studio albums, 2 covers albums, 1 triple live album and various greatest-hits compilations. They are finishing their 7th studio album, whose release in early 2023 is intended to coincide with a world tour.

FLC are Europe's favourite “cousins from New York”, brilliant storytellers in even sharper Saville Row suits, whose musical career began with comically exaggerated tales of living large in the neon metropolis, through music, drugs, crime and existential ennui.

ELECTRIC LIGHT ORCHESTRA BY PHIL BATES & BAND

Active in the 1970s and 1980s, Britain’s Electric Light Orchestra are among popular music’s greatest and most important bands. Rooted in Beatles-style music and enriched by the Moody Blues’ experience, ELO’s sound was richly textured and used string instruments unusual in rock. Their distinctive style featured an intoxicating symbiosis of catchy, energetic rock and refined classical sounds. The group split when leader Jeff Lynne devoted himself to production and promotion. They later reunited without Lynne as Electric Light Orchestra Part II.

The project Electric Light Orchestra by Phil Bates & Band, which we will hear in Wrocław, was founded by Phil Bates, the singer and guitarist of Electric Light Orchestra Part II and leader of The Orchestra and Electric Light Orchestra Classic. With these groups, he recreated the magic of ELO’s music for two decades. The British singer, guitarist and music producer has worked with greats including Fleetwood Mac, Deep Purple, Boston, Black Sabbath and Robert Plant. Electric Light Orchestra by Phil Bates concerts are extraordinary experiences: the virtuosity and power of a superb live band, together with Bates’s musical and vocal precision, promise an unforgettable rock’n’roll journey back to the legendary group’s finest years. The setlist includes hits such as “Don’t Bring Me Down”, “Rock’n Roll Is King”, “Mr. Blue Sky” and “Ticket To The Moon”.
