Calu & Riddim Band + guests
Calu is a young Wrocław singer known from Riddimzz Team, with whom he has played many concerts. His popular songs include “Jest Dziś” and “Tak Mało O Mnie Wiesz”, featuring Lublin singer Tallib. Calu and Piotr “KnapAll” Kanpik of Zebra have now decided to form a band. The project grew from a pure passion for making music and a love of reggae, particularly modern roots. Their work is full of emotion, beautiful melodies and energy. Combined with their fresh perspective, this promises plenty to satisfy lovers of roots sounds. As they say themselves: “We are inspired by what is most valuable in reggae music”, naming artists including Tarrus Riley, Morgan Heritage and Beres Hammond.
Bobo Dread
This figure hardly needs an introduction. A familiar face on Wrocław’s music scene for many years, he was once a regular at the legendary Droga do Mekki [R.I.P.], and before that at the underground Madness. He is undoubtedly one of Wrocław’s ambassadors at events across Poland, organising and taking part in numerous nights featuring Polish and international acts. His heart beats to reggae, but his soul is open to any musical variation in which deep bass plays a decisive role.
Positive Thursdays in Dub (Rafał Konert, Sebastian Pachecki)
This musical project grew from Pozytywne Czwartki, Rafał Konert’s programme on Akademickie Radio LUZ. A selection based primarily on Jamaican dub and its contemporary forms is enriched with live trumpet parts played by Sebastian Pachecki. Through him, dub’s spaces fill with brass sounds, further treated with the iconic analogue Space Echo RE-201 delay. They have played numerous events, including Thursday Bass Addicts and Island Bass Addicts, and supported Twilight Circus.
Robbie (Cool Operator Sound System)
Robbie is a soundman, singer, reggae-event organiser and owner of Wrocław’s first sound system, Cool Operator Sound System, as well as a member of the Steppa Warriors collective. Ska, rocksteady, roots reggae and dub dominate his selections. He has played alongside artists including Jah Observer Sound System, O.B.F. & Shanty D, Indica Dubs, Stamina Li (Kibir La Amlak) and many others. He has been active on the scene for almost 8 years.
