32nd WROCŁAW WOŚP GRAND FINALE. 28 JANUARY IN THE MARKET SQUARE AND BEYOND!
This is already the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity’s 32nd Finale. This year’s edition takes place under the slogan “Płuca po pandemii. Gramy dla dzieci i dorosłych!” (“Lungs after the pandemic. Playing for children and adults!”). On 28 January, volunteers will take to the streets of Polish and international cities to raise money for medical equipment for Polish hospitals. Wrocław will offer concerts and other accompanying events, all aimed at raising as much as possible for a worthy cause. Traditionally, every Finale closes with “Światełko do nieba”, the Light to the Sky, in cities throughout Poland. Wrocław will be no exception!

EVERYTHING PLAYS WELL HERE!
Wrocław’s Market Square will fill with attractions, because, as every year, we are playing as loudly as possible! Everyone will find something to enjoy: classic cars and all kinds of motorcycles, firefighting and Water Rescue Service equipment, and Golden Retrievers collecting donations alongside volunteers. Guitar fans are invited to the Guitar World Record Zone, where a musical ballot box will appear. We will choose GITAROWE PRZEBOJE WSZECH CZASÓW: the most popular songs and those guitarists most love to play. Every vote matters and may determine which songs you hear on the main stage of Wrocław’s WOŚP Finale later that same day.
The Finale stage in the Market Square will be filled with the finest music and more! Wrocław Mayor Jacek Sutryk and the diplomatic corps will open it ceremonially, loudly and joyfully, accompanied by our Provincial Police Headquarters’ Representative Orchestra! The concerts begin with something for young and old: songs from “Akademia Pana Kleksa”! Wonderful artists Nikola Warda, Ania Szul and Wojtek Dereń will take us into a world of dreams, singing the loveliest songs from this cult production, accompanied by talented musicians associated with Stary Klasztor.
Next, the stage will belong to Robert Cichy, a two-time Fryderyk winner honoured for the albums “Smack” and “Dirty Sun”. He has earned acclaim for his blend of musical genres, distinctive musical language and experimental approach to the guitar. His performance is one you cannot miss!
Next, children’s group Rewelacja will take to the stage, giving the youngest visitors the chance to have a fantastic time! Musicians from the “GITAROWE PRZEBOJE WSZECH CZASÓW” project will also appear, delivering rock thrills with the songs that guitarists love playing most. Staying with rock, we will welcome Dr Misio, led by Arkadiusz Jakubik. They play fierce, uncompromising rock ’n’ roll. A solid sound, heavy riffs, excellent, thoughtful lyrics and a refusal to compromise musically make them a fresh and original proposition. They appeal not only to rock fans but above all to people seeking intellectual stimulation and reflection in art, open to its form and happy to join in an almost ritualistic shared celebration.
The last band to perform before Światełko do Nieba will be Nocny Kochanek. A “Kochanków” concert is always a musical and visual spectacle, guaranteeing a great time in front of the stage. They play classic heavy metal, audible from the very first notes. Lyrically, they are inimitable! As they say themselves, it has to be a laugh, and the songs absolutely must be based on facts, sometimes even genuine ones…
During Światełko do Nieba, at precisely 20:00, IPS INTERNATIONAL CHOIR will take the stage: a choir of forty incredible children representing more than a dozen nationalities. It is led by IPS teachers Aleksandra Zembroń and Alicja Łopatto, who also created “Wroclaw International Performing Arts by IPS” for children and young people fascinated by music.
As every year, Stary Klasztor is playing with us too! The fundraising music begins in earnest a day earlier. On Saturday 27 January, nautical-music enthusiasts are invited to the Gothic Hall for Wrocław’s finest groups: ORKIESTRA SAMANTA, ZA HORYZONTEM, JAN i KLAN and W STRONĘ PORTU. ORKIESTRA SAMANTA, veterans among Wrocław’s shanty crews, will celebrate 25 years of artistic work during the city’s WOŚP Finale, so expect special guests and unique collaborations. Meanwhile, the Stained Glass Hall will feature rock groups free air, Siloe Rockers, Lamya Band, Overthink and Po Woli.
Stary Klasztor will also be buzzing on Finale day, 28 January, with a host of wonderful artists. Wrocław’s Blade Loki have secured their place among Poland’s leading alternative bands through more than 30 years of activity. After ten years away, local alternative legends Hurt return with a new album and a special concert, with the excellent Maciek Kurowicki at the microphone. We will also see Warsaw trio Dziwna Wiosna, whose concerts are like space flights, journeys between poles: silence and beautiful melodies, furious energy and noise.
Do not miss KOBIETY MAJĄ GŁOS!, the special all-female WrocLove Divas project featuring no fewer than 24 Wrocław singers, familiar from television programmes The Voice of Poland, Szansa na Sukces and Must Be The Music, as well as numerous other musical projects.
You can find all information on events, venues and times on the Wrocław Grand Finale page.
