Wroc Love Summer Stage 2008: Ky-Mani Marley and Balkan Beat Box at Pola Marsowe
Wrocław is often called the city of a hundred bridges. This year, thanks to the second Wroc Love Summer Stage festival, all of them will lead towards Pola Marsowe, the location of the coming summer's most interesting musical celebration!
As previously announced, the organisers will extend the event from two to three days and move the main stage from Słodowa Island to the aforementioned Pola Marsowe. Another innovation is a comprehensive festival village, with merchandise, extensive food facilities and camping for visitors from outside Lower Silesia’s capital. As last year, after the outdoor concerts we will move to Wrocław’s leading clubs, where bands and top Polish sound systems will keep the fun going until dawn.
With this year's exceptionally rich programme, Wroc Love Summer Stage significantly broadens its musical spectrum. Held on 26–28 June, the festival will become a three-day showcase of the most interesting and inspiring contemporary reggae, world music and related genres.
The stage in one of Wrocław’s most picturesque districts will welcome many extraordinary artists this year, all enjoying enduring international popularity. Among them, we will see solo projects by two respected singers: Michael Rose, known for his work with Black Uhuru, and Molara, a long-standing collaborator of dub-reggae group Zion Train. Importantly, some of the artists invited to Wroc Love Summer Stage, including Ky-Mani Marley, son of reggae king Bob Marley himself, Balkan Beat Box and Ska Cubano, will appear in Poland for the first time! Leading names from Poland’s independent scene, including O.S.T.R., Psio Crew, Jamal and many, many others, complete the line-up.
A unique atmosphere, professional production and a stage filled with leading international and Polish reggae and world music stars guarantee a great time, even for those beyond the genre’s fanbase!
