In midsummer, Wyspa Słodowa in the heart of Wrocław will host one of Poland's biggest summer music festivals. The first Wroc Love Summer Stage will last two days, offering the chance to hear and see the most interesting artists from the broad world of reggae and dub.

The biggest stars on Wroc Love Summer Stage's main stage will undoubtedly be Jamaica's Junior Kelly and Britain's Macka B. Both will appear with their strongest live line-ups. We will see them with the large bands that accompany them at the world's biggest reggae concerts and festivals.

Junior Kelly is one of the world's leading ambassadors of reggae. A devoted Rastafarian with a genuine sense of musical mission, he expresses it in thoughtful, inspiring lyrics on important social and political themes, spreading a positive message to audiences.

Macka B is one of the most influential dancehall singers. He makes conscious music inspired by Rastafarian tradition. He has collaborated for years with Mad Professor, whose involvement enriches Macka B's compositions with dub elements. Most songs address spiritual and social issues, but there are also plenty of purely humorous tracks. In Wrocław, he will appear with The Royale Roots Band.

Alongside these artists, numerous European bands and sound systems will perform. Among the most interesting is a new project bringing together two respected vocalists from different musical scenes: Screaming Soul, uniting Asian Dub Foundation singer Ghetto Priest with Sandman, the British producer and vocalist well known to the hip-hop community. Their work perfectly combines music and socially engaged lyrics inspired by life in a city as large as London.

Another major festival event will be Germaican Roadshow 2007, a project created by Pionear. The artist is already very familiar to Polish audiences thanks to “Polski Ogień”, and is also behind Seeed's most popular riddims. The project will feature Lexie Lee and Junior Banton, appearing in Poland for the first time, and Ill Inscpecta, who needs no introduction to dancehall fans.

The Polish contribution will include Wszystkich Wschodów Słońca with guests. This offers an opportunity to see many well-known singers from various musical groups, not only reggae acts, performing their songs to the band's compositions. Another representative of the Polish reggae scene will be Wrocław's Natural Dread Killaz & Riddim Banditz.

The festival will also feature Eastern touches, beginning with Ukraine's Perkelaba: incredible performance energy, especially vocally, and a variety of sounds and instruments used to create them. Perkelaba's concerts are musical “show-spectacles”.

The next guests will be Chutki Smouz, meaning “fast snail” in Polish. This Belarusian folk-rock band originally combine Belarusian folk with dynamic rock and elements of reggae, ska and pop. Mixing different genres, they achieve their own unique style.

Guests from beyond our western border will also appear: Germany's 40Fyah Band with singer Ephriam Juda will sweep audiences along with reggae/dancehall rhythms. The group already have numerous appearances at major European music events behind them, which will surely result in an excellent show.

The Czech Republic will be represented by United Flavour, whose line-up can be described as a true cultural melting pot: alongside Czechs, the band includes musicians from Zambia, Spain and Cuba. They mainly perform reggae, Latin, soul, hip-hop and R&B music.

The all-day celebration of Caribbean sounds will not end on Wyspa Słodowa, but move to seven of Wrocław's finest music clubs. There, until dawn, fans can enjoy sounds supplied by leading Polish and international sound systems.
