On 10 December, the celebrated dance show Tango Seducción visits Wrocław for the first time. This is a special opportunity to see masters of Argentine tango live in a spectacular production.

Their professional performances have been enthusiastically received in the USA, Greece, Brazil, Turkey, France, Austria, Norway, Belgium, Israel and many other countries worldwide. They have performed for leading figures from numerous nations and international show-business stars. Their show has enchanted Princess Diana, Ronald Reagan and Diego Maradona among others. The media call them an “Argentinian phenomenon”, critics “the pride of their country”. In recognition of his promotion of Argentinian culture, Gustavo Russo has been hailed as a national hero. We will soon be able to see how fully he deserves this honour during Tango Seducción’s performances in Poland. They will transport us to the land of Tierra del Fuego and let us experience the extraordinary energy of Argentinian tango for ourselves.

World-famous dancer and choreographer Gustavo Russo, together with leading Argentinian artists, dancers, musicians and singers, will introduce audiences to an entirely new dimension of tango: an original, contemporary dance show. During Tango Seducción’s musical feast, audiences will see dance at its finest, combined with energising music and the hypnotic voices of top-class soloists. Together, these create a dreamlike image of a powerful reality as sharp as a knife. As the master himself says: “Tango is an eternal flame. A flame born from the intimate, primal relationship between dancers: the uncontrolled passion between a man and a woman. It is the flame that brings temptation to tango.”

Through dramatic, humorous and erotic scenes, the artists reveal the full range of emotions. The second part of the group's name itself suggests tango's character: seducción means seduction in Spanish. Every movement reveals the dancers' many years of experience and total dedication to work that has become their greatest passion. Only exceptionally talented, passionate dancers can create such a hot flame on stage.

And only such artists belong to Tango Seducción. All have experience and success with famous ensembles and performances virtually worldwide. For all of them, tango has become a way of life, to which they devoted themselves completely many years ago. Gustavo Russo selected them for their talent and artistry, and they joined Tango Seducción to develop and show what they do best. The ensemble aims to tell varied stories about love. The performance distils the good and bad sides of human nature: infidelity, disappointment, profound sadness, complete happiness and, of course, true and everlasting love.

The performance has two parts, one humorous and one serious. The first journeys through time, through tango’s birth, development and greatest flourishing. Its story is told by the people who created tango, for whom it was the only entertainment relieving sad, dull lives of poverty: drinkers, prostitutes and marginalised people. The second reveals tango’s artistic character. Audiences admire the beauty, passion and merging bodies of dancing couples: pure poetry with a slight erotic tint.

Tango’s fascinating history is told in an original way. Combining theatrical means such as traditional tango, classical ballet and contemporary dance allows audiences worldwide to experience a captivating journey fully. It leads through laughter and excitement, jealousy and seduction, sensuality, passion and love: a journey through the emotions that create tango. As Manuel Romero put it: “Tango is not only a dance. Tango is a way of life, a state of mind, a philosophy. Tango was born from the roots of human nature, which is why every human being understands its language.”
