Nut Ferment #05: Alicja Janosz sang Frühstück’s “Rage” | Music programme on YouTube
news
Alicja Janosz, Frühstück and Blade Loki exchanged songs at Scena Ciśnień. Soul and blues influences met a rock quartet and a band with guitars, trumpet and trombone.
On 15 February 2015, episode 5 of Nut Ferment took place at Scena Ciśnień in Wrocław’s Capitol Musical Theatre. Piotr Bartyś and Konrad Imiela hosted the meeting, with live performances interspersed with conversation.
Each guest performed songs from their own repertoire and interpreted a piece associated with another participant. Passing songs between the artists brought different voices, instruments and approaches to the same stage.
The opening song
The title song “Nut Ferment” was performed by Marta Dzwonkowska accompanied by Piotra Świętoniowskiego. Tomasz Leszczyński composed the music and Konrad Imiela wrote the lyrics.
Alicja Janosz
Singer and songwriter Alicja Janosz won the Polish “Idol” in 2002. After the first stage of her solo career she returned to performing with HooDoo Band, then developed her own material on “Vintage”. Soul, jazz and blues were important reference points, and she appeared here with a full band.
The set included “Gdy przychodzi noc” and “Put Your Hands Up”. The exchange added “Rage”, from the repertoire of Frühstück.

Frühstück is a Wrocław rock quartet formed in 1997. At the time, its members were Martijn Krale, Wojciech Karel, Marcin Karel and Tomasz Kuźbik. The 2014 album “Story” was promoted by “Rage”, the song Alicja Janosz chose for the exchange.
The set included “Know You’re Right” and “Still the Same”. The exchange added “No Pasaran”, from the repertoire of Blade Loki.

Blade Loki appeared with Agata Polic on vocals. Guitar and rhythm section were joined by keyboards, trumpet and trombone. The band’s contribution linked its own “Psy i koty” and “Podwodny” with a song associated with Alicja Janosz.
The exchange also brought “Dranie”.
