Nut Ferment #03: Krzysztof Zalewski performed “Rzeka” | Music programme on YouTube
news
Marcelina and Krzysztof Zalewski met Wolna Grupa Bukowina. Songs travelled between generations and different approaches to musical storytelling.
On 20 December 2014, episode 3 of Nut Ferment took place at Scena Ciśnień in Wrocław’s Capitol Musical Theatre. Konrad Imiela hosted the meeting, with live performances interspersed with conversation.
Each guest performed songs from their own repertoire and interpreted a piece associated with another participant. Passing songs between the artists brought different voices, instruments and approaches to the same stage.
The opening song
The title song “Nut Ferment” was performed by Adrian Kąca and Piotr Saul. Tomasz Leszczyński composed the music and Konrad Imiela wrote the lyrics.
Marcelina
Singer, songwriter and composer Marcelina had already released her debut and “Wschody/Zachody”. Her song “Wroclove” won the “Kawałek Wrocławia” competition. At Scena Ciśnień she was joined by Robert Cichy, a co-writer of music from her repertoire.
The set included “Nigdy w zawsze” and “Me and My Boyfriend”. The exchange added “Jaśniej”, from the repertoire of Krzysztof Zalewski.

Singer and multi-instrumentalist Krzysztof Zalewski was also known as Zalef at the time. Following his debut “Pistolet” and collaborations with other artists, he returned with the album “Zelig”. “Ósemko” and “FOLYN”, performed in the episode, came from this period.
The exchange also brought “Rzeka”.

Wolna Grupa Bukowina brought the tradition of Polish sung poetry to the meeting. The group’s beginnings date to the 1971 tourist song gathering, and its history is closely associated with Wojciech Belon, Wojciech Jarociński and Wacław Juszczyszyn. Alongside its own repertoire, the band interpreted a song by Marcelina.
The set included “Piosenka wiosenna” and “Sielanka o domu”. The exchange added “Bez ramki”, from the repertoire of Marcelina.
