Dub FX and Flower Fairy at City Sounds: beatboxing, voice and looped sounds at Eter

A true street legend, tireless beatboxer and singer returns to Wrocław: Dub FX and Flowery Fairy take the City Sounds stage at the Eter club on 30 May!

Australian Benjamin Stanford, known as Dub FX, is a musical phenomenon on a global scale. He became famous through exuberant performances on the streets of Europe’s major cities, carefully documented and shared online. It is largely thanks to the internet that Dub FX has also enjoyed enduring popularity in Poland for several years. He has no major label behind him, yet tickets for his concerts still sell out immediately.

Dub FX’s compositions consist mainly of sounds generated by his own voice, looped and processed live using extensive equipment. His fiancée Flower Fairy, real name Shoshana Sadia, regularly accompanies Stanford’s street performances. Benjamin met her during a British visit. She performs his most recognisable compositions with him, including “Everythinks A Ripple”, “Wandering Love” and “Time Will Tell”.

Dub FX has 2 live albums and the studio album “Everythinks A Ripple” to his name. That record includes “Love Someone” and “Flow”, songs popularised largely through videos posted on YouTube. In 2010, Dub Fx collaborated with Sirius to release “Dub FX and Sirius A Crossworlds”.

Here is a brief overview of some of the most important moments and clear successes in Dub FX’s musical life so far:

- 8 million views of Dub FX videos on YouTube; – a performance at Przystanek Woodstock before more than 400 thousand music fans; – an appearance at the legendary Glastonbury festival; – headline performances at VOLT and Wake Up Festival; – 2 thousand sold-out concerts during two European tours
