“DACHY WROCŁAWIA”: AN ONLINE CONCERT SERIES DURING THE PANDEMIC
The bonds between artists and audiences were suddenly severed, and creators, promoters, organisers, stage technicians, producers, managers, musicians, venue owners and countless people working in culture and event organisation found themselves in an entirely new situation… Yet Wrocław is a meeting place: we cannot live here without relationships with one another.
We missed the city, the space, the concerts…
For a while, Wrocław’s intense festival, theatre, music and club life came to a halt. A time of isolation began.
We missed the city, its spaces, concerts and the interaction between artists and audiences. And we found a way. After long weeks of isolation and separation, it was time for the city, music and Wrocław performers to meet again, straight away at the highest level: on Wrocław’s rooftops! The idea was not born solely because of the crisis. This event speaks, and will continue to speak after the city reopens, about people hungry for art, about artists, music and Wrocław. We therefore planned a series of concerts by Wrocław artists and bands in exceptional spaces overlooking the city, with a view towards a return to normality and cultural life.
Wrocław’s rooftops became stages for jazz, indie rock, reggae, blues and tango, for clicking heels and an explosion of colours and sounds. Sun-scorched, wind-carried concerts emerged, joyful that together we were opening a new chapter. Seventy musicians played 10 concerts on 8 rooftops so one Wrocław could resonate! Sounds of freedom, longing, hope and optimism rang high above the streets, in places where everything takes on a new perspective.
From 7 June, join us twice a week, on Sundays and Thursdays, for concert broadcasts in the “Dachy Wrocławia” series. We have visited fantastic locations: the roof of the cosy Cafe Borówka and the stately Mathematical Tower of the University of Wrocław. The Academy of Fine Arts and Wrocław Contemporary Museum have also hosted us. We will take you on a journey through our city, often revealing unfamiliar places, pulsating with Wrocław's music.
Performing for you will be Electric Shower, Zespół Kameralny Sceny pod Regałem, Justyna Szafran, Zawartko / Piasecki, Puellae Cantantes, MAM Głos, Francis Tuan, Bethel, Synaptine and Flamenco Trio. The broadcasts will be available on the Wroclaw [Wroclove] fan page and at www.wroclaw.pl.

Więzi pomiędzy artystami a publicznością zostały nagle przerwane, a twórcy, promotorzy, organizatorzy, technicy estradowi, producenci, managerowie, muzycy, właściciele lokali oraz niepoliczalna liczba osób uprawiających zawody związane z kulturą czy organizacją wydarzeń znalazła się w zupełnie nowej sytuacji… A przecież Wrocław to miasto spotkań – nie umiemy w nim żyć bez wzajemnych relacji.
