XXANAXX In brief, XXANAXX are a Warsaw duo creating electronic music. It began when Klaudia was looking for the right producer and Michał sought a singer with an unusual voice. Their paths crossed in 2012, and they have worked together ever since. From their first moments in the studio, they knew they wanted to make music together. Their first single, “Disappear”, appeared in December 2012. In August 2013, U Know Me Records released their debut EP, also featuring familiar tracks “Broken Hope” and “Got U Under”.
The group performed at numerous concerts and festivals, including Open’er, Audioriver and Selektor. Brand New Anthem named XXANAXX Debut of 2013, with further debut and discovery nominations in numerous polls. Their much-anticipated “Triangles” appeared in May 2014 through Warner Music Polska, warmly received by media, fans and Polish and international artists.
THE DUMPLINGS The Dumplings combine youth with an uncompromising spirit, generational lyrics with a fresh approach to electronica, and catchy melodies with danceable melancholy. Their musical explorations have captivated more than 39 thousand Facebook fans and earned Hiro magazine's Future of the Year award and the Discovery of the Year award from club and festival music website muno.pl.
Justyna Święs, vocals and music, aged 17, and Kuba Karaś, music, aged 18, met at a song contest and decided to play together. Initially, they focused on acoustic indie-rock songs, but electronics took hold, and several songs emerged during a holiday spent together. They sent them to Łukasz Jakóbiak, who invited them onto his online talk show “20 m2 Łukasza” in September 2013. Within less than a month, The Dumplings’ fan page attracted over 13,000 fans. In November, they began regular touring, filling clubs throughout Poland.
In January 2014, The Dumplings entered the home studio of their album’s producer, Bartosz Szczęsny, known as one half of Rebeka, recording more than a dozen songs for their debut. In February 2014, they signed with Warner Music Poland. The album is scheduled for release in May 2014, preceded by the pre-release single “Mewy”. The Dumplings have already been announced for Open’er Festival and OFF Festival, performed at two important UK showcase festivals, Liverpool SoundCity and The Great Escape in Brighton, and played a London club concert with Kamp!
The band are currently promoting their debut album, “No Bad Days”, released on 13 May. It has received positive reviews, while the video for the lead single, “Technicolor Yawn”, has already been viewed more than 250,000 times. Since October 2013, The Dumplings have played over 70 concerts, including in the Czech Republic, Slovakia and the UK. Alongside compositions from the album, their live shows feature several surprising covers. Which ones? It is worth finding out for yourself.
KLAVES Mikołaj Gramowski, who records as Klaves, is a 22-year-old music producer from Poznań. He took his first steps in production in late 2011. His fascination with the British club scene led to his debut EP, “At Dawn Again”, released by Koh-I-Noor in April 2013. Just six months later, in September 2013, he released his second EP, “What I Like”, on the American label Symbols Recordings. His tracks have received airplay on BBC Radio 1Xtra and BBC Radio 6, and have been played by DJs including Gilles Peterson, Kastle and Till Von Sein. Klaves has also appeared at several important festivals, including Open’er in Gdynia and Burn Selector Festival in Warsaw. His music interweaves densely chopped vocals with extended chords, with house and future garage providing the principal foundations of his sound.
