A CLASH OF WORLDS – ABRADAB, KLESZCZ AND RAHIM PLAY WITH AN ORCHESTRA
WINDRAP! Orchestra is an extraordinary joining of forces between a wind orchestra and leading Polish hip-hop artists. Those accepting the invitation to work with the orchestra led by Mariusz Dziubek include Abradab, Kleszcz and Rahim, who created “ARKanoid” together less than two years ago.

“WINDRAP! Orchestra” features two tracks by this line-up: “Malkontent”, presented a few weeks ago, and “To co mam”, whose video was filmed at FUNZEUM, the Museum of Light and Colour.
The video premiered on 1 June 2022.
“Working with the orchestra was a completely new experience. I had played with orchestras in concert before, but only my own songs, specially arranged for the occasion. Here, we were creating from scratch, which meant an entirely different way of working and having to adapt to specific arrangements. It was a great experience, but also a challenge: a meeting of worlds, a different musical perspective and a step outside my comfort zone that I would happily repeat with this crew,” Rahim recalls of the project.
“The key was to retain the hip-hop character while showing Narodowa Orkiestra Dęta's possibilities and sound,” says Abradab. “That posed a challenge for me and the invited rappers, who usually work with musically simple loops. It was undoubtedly an exciting but also highly satisfying experience,” he adds.
Classical music, religious songs, familiar film themes and iconic pop, rock and reggae compositions: Narodowa Orkiestra Dęta can play all this and more. Some time ago, Mariusz Dziubek’s ensemble set a new challenge: a project with leading Polish hip-hop artists. It produced an album full of surprising musical combinations and guest appearances by Poland’s most interesting performers. Importantly for such a venture, it comprises entirely new, previously unknown songs.
The Orchestra has collaborated with Poland’s finest rappers, producers and composers. Four singles have already premiered: “Znamy się tak krótko”, featuring jazz and pop singer Maria Sadowska, Polish hip-hop pioneer Liroy and genuine stage animals NO LOGO; “Malkontent”, on which Abradab, Rahim and Kleszcz teamed up with NOD; “Luksus”, where the orchestra is joined by Polish-Ukrainian DAGADANA and Łona, one of the most interesting representatives of so-called intellectual rap; and “Masz mnie za nic”, featuring Vienio, one of the Polish hip-hop scene’s best-known and most respected artists.
“WINDRAP! Orchestra” is available from 22 April in shops and on major streaming services.
