23rd WOŚP GRAND FINALE IN WROCŁAW’S MARKET SQUARE

As every year, the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity Grand Finale takes place on the second Sunday in January. We will celebrate this wonderful occasion in Wrocław’s Market Square, with performances by leading artists from Poland’s music scene!

11 JANUARY 2015

The Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity Finale in Wrocław’s Market Square is fast approaching. Lower Silesia’s capital has never seen an event like this: twelve bands will perform on 11 January! Ten hours of wonderful music, film screenings, guests and a host of surprises prepared by the organisers await us. That day, more than 120,000 WOŚP volunteers will take to the streets of Polish and international cities for the twenty-third time, collecting money to maintain high standards of treatment for children on paediatric and oncology wards and dignified medical care for older people.

In Wrocław alone, you will meet more than a thousand brave people collecting donations in tins to buy medical equipment for Polish hospitals. The event will be broadcast by Polish Television, and its culmination will be the symbolic release of the Light to Heaven.

Thanks to donors’ generosity, the WOŚP Foundation has purchased medical equipment worth more than PLN 590 million over its years of activity. This year, it is raising funds to maintain high standards of care for children in paediatric and oncology wards and to provide dignified medical care for older people. Money collected during the Grand Finale will go to clinical departments specialising in areas including oncology, cardiac surgery, pulmonology and rheumatology. The Orchestra’s mission is to support the healthcare system effectively and wisely.
