Yasmin Levy at Ethno Jazz Festival: Sephardic Ladino songs and Andalusian flamenco
Yasmin Levy combines Sephardic songs in Ladino with Andalusian flamenco and a deeply expressive voice. The Ethno Jazz Festival 2013 season-opening preview announced her return to Wrocław’s White Stork Synagogue.

Israel's biggest world music star returns to Wrocław. On 22 January 2013, the singer who combines Judeo-Spanish Ladino with Andalusian flamenco will perform at the White Stork Synagogue, opening Ethno Jazz Festival's new concert season.
Yasmin Levy primarily performs flamenco-inspired Sephardic music. She sings in Ladino, the forgotten language of Spanish Jews. Through her deep, moving singing style, she both preserves and revives the most beautiful songs of the Judeo-Spanish Ladino heritage, combining them with Andalusian flamenco.

Yasmin Levy's debut, “Romance & Yasmin”, was dominated by Ladino songs and caused a great stir among music lovers worldwide. The next album, “La Juderia”, brought a unique combination of Ladino and flamenco. It was this record that shaped her distinctive style, perfectly combining Jewish spirituality with Spanish emotion.
Released in 2007, “Mano Suave” was distributed worldwide by the prestigious Harmonia Mundi label. Recordings from the album reached numerous radio stations around the world, significantly increasing Yasmin Levy's popularity and establishing her as one of the most interesting personalities in World Music. Last year, she released another very warmly received album, “Sentir”.
Yasmin Levy’s captivating power and scale of talent have been compared to the finest world music singers of the younger generation, such as Mariza, Buika and Lhasa.
