WROCŁAW’S MAY HOLIDAY 2012 IN THE CITY’S HEART

WE WILL HEAR ARTISTS SUCH AS KASIA NOSOWSKA, MYSLOVITZ AND COMA

As always, in May on Wrocław’s Wyspa Słodowa. And, as every year, LIONSTAGE plays a major part in organising the event.

You can be sure that the finest bands and Poland’s best-known, most acclaimed musicians will perform. There will be something for everyone: Wrocław’s May holiday weekend will welcome outstanding rock musicians, with room for funk, dancehall and alternative music, as well as veterans whose place in the Polish musical canon is secure. Artists such as Kasia Nosowska, Myslovitz and Coma surely need no introduction. Following their superb, award-winning albums released in 2011, we cannot wait for them to present their new songs on the 3-Majówka stage. Myslovitz will appear on our 3-Majówka stage with their new singer for the first time. We will therefore witness a concert that could enter Polish music history. Give them a warm welcome!

Fans of heavier sounds will be delighted. This year, we have invited the legendary Illusion, returning after years away, outstanding violinist Michał Jelonek with his band, and Acid Drinkers, whose popularity with Wrocław audiences remains undiminished.

If you want to come to Wyspa Słodowa to dance, there will be plenty of opportunity. Few people can stand still during a concert by funk-and-dance band Łąki Łan. These lads can get even the stiffest people moving! We will all have a chance to shake our hips to Lao Che too, and certainly to Brodka, whose latest album completely transformed her image — now everyone is humming Granda!

Natural Dread Killaz and Grubson will fly the flag for dancehall and reggae on the Wrocław stage.

Naturally, we are not forgetting Polish music’s classics. Perfect will provide those experiences this year. Everyone will surely hum along to the iconic “Baranek” or Strachy na Lachy’s “Piła Tango”. Dżem will also appear, letting us joyfully sing hits such as “Czerwony jak Cegła”. Dependable Kazik na Żywo will visit our stage too, and together we will shout the words of “Plamy na Słońcu”. These and many other immortal hits await on Słodowa Island over the May holiday weekend, 3–5 May.
