The Webb Sisters at the synagogue: folk, harp and sisterly voices familiar from Cohen’s concerts
The Webb Sisters pair sisterly harmonies with guitar and harp, developing their own folk repertoire alongside their work with Leonard Cohen. The White Stork Synagogue announcement introduces the British duo as a vocal and instrumental project in its own right.
On 11 March, Ethno Jazz Festival invites you to the White Stork Synagogue for a special concert appealing to admirers of outstanding singing and instrumental artistry, as well as feminine beauty and grace.
The Webb Sisters, the duo known worldwide for the angelic voices that have accompanied Leonard Cohen on stage for years, will give their own concert in Poland for the first time.
Dynamic, expressive yet harmoniously performed songs, accompanied by guitar and harp, transport listeners into a world of folk and folk-jazz from the UK and the United States.
The Webb Sisters have released three albums and performed before millions worldwide accompanying Leonard Cohen, who remained fascinated by their beauty, talent and musical sensitivity. They have sung for Princess Anne and Queen Elizabeth, and were invited by Sting to guest on his album “If On a Winter’s Night.”.
When they are not touring with Leonard Cohen, The Webb Sisters find time to perform with many other outstanding artists, including Jamie Cullum, Rufus Wainwright, Gotye, Jason Mraz and Katie Melua.
They recently entered the recording studio to make their next album, scheduled for release in spring 2014.
