Puppini Sisters at Impart: forties swing and three voices from the United Kingdom
Puppini Sisters reinterpret swing standards and pop songs through three-part harmonies inspired by the 1940s. The Impart concert announcement introduces the trio with repertoire ranging from The Andrews Sisters to Blondie, Kate Bush and The Smiths.

An absolute live sensation in Poland for the first time! The swinging 40s, straight from the UK. Join us at Centrum Sztuki Impart in Wrocław on 25 October 2008.
This fantastic trio, styled after the 1940s, sing covers of The Andrews Sisters. Although Marcella Puppini, Stephenie O'Brien and Kate Mullins draw extensively on the past, they have retained their own individual sound. Puppini Sisters sing old hits including “Mr. Sandman”, “Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy” and “Jeepers Creepers”.

As they themselves say, their vocal group draws on the popular “The Andrews Sisters”. Over their long career, the Andrews sisters sold more than 60 million records. Will the Puppini Sisters follow suit? On their 2006 debut, “Betcha Bottom Dollar”, their sweet singing encompasses not only songs from the 1940s but also interpretations of Blondie’s “Heart Of Glass”, Kate Bush’s “Wuthering Heights” and The Smith’s “Panic”. A gypsy-swing trio provides superb accompaniment. The Puppini Sisters were inspired by the French animated film “Trio z Belleville”, which features a group singing in a 1940s style. Their first album was produced by Benoit Charest, an Oscar nominee for his music for that film.
