Raging Fyah with The Whiff: Jamaican roots rock reggae and the sound of “Judgement Day”
Raging Fyah draws on Jamaica’s roots rock reggae tradition, building songs around vocal harmonies and a positive message. The Firlej concert announcement introduces the band behind “Judgement Day” and The Whiff, announced as the opening act.

Join us for a Raging Fyah concert. The young Jamaican group have already won hearts worldwide by going against prevailing trends and returning to roots reggae traditions. Support comes from THE WHIFF, who gave an outstanding concert at Wrocław's WOŚP Finale.
RAGING FYAH
Raging Fyah are one of the most talented and fastest-developing groups ever to emerge on Jamaica’s music scene. Formed in 2006, they comprise six wonderful musicians: Anthony Watson, Courtland White, Demar Gayle, Delroy Hamilton, Kumar Bent and Mahlon Moving, who decided to rekindle positive messages within the music industry. Although their versatility allows them to play every genre, most songs, inspired by their creative passion and life experiences, are simply roots rock reggae.
They write their own songs and lyrics, with every word touching the listener’s soul, offering encouragement and inspiring positive action among people from all socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds.

Their melodic playing and vocal harmonies are frequently compared to legends Bob Marley, Peter Tosh and Third World. They run Raging Fyah Productions, releasing debut single “Peace Reigns”, then “Fight”, and “H20 Riddim”, featuring recordings by several popular reggae and dancehall artists. With every note and song, they seek to change the world, lighting hope in darkness and breaking barriers between people.
They have one enthusiastically received album, ‘Judgement Day’, and dozens of performances at festivals such as Rototom Sunsplash, Summerjam, Garrance Reggae Festival and Reggae Sun Ska Festival to their name.
THE WHIFF
The Whiff means a breath, a breath of freshness. That is our music: it blossoms and opens its buds. Colourful, delicate, distinctive and, when needed, sharp-edged. The band emerged from pure creative passion and love of reggae, particularly modern roots. Their work contains abundant emotion, beautiful melodies and energy. Combined with a fresh perspective, it satisfies lovers of both roots sounds and more contemporary approaches. Its musicians previously played in groups including Riddimz Team and Zebra.
