Przystanek Woodstock 2017: Łąki Łan, Trivium and Mando Diao on the Main Stage in Kostrzyn

Kostrzyn nad Odrą will once again resonate with the finest rhythms! Przystanek Woodstock 2017 is a treat for every rock music fan.

The Main Stage fun begins at 15, when Łąki Łan will play immediately after Jurek Owsiak opens the festival, warming everyone up for several days of celebration! Power, energy, endorphins: this line from one of their songs perfectly describes the Łąki atmosphere. We have not seen them on the Woodstock stage for 6 years, so opening the festival is the perfect welcome back. The group are famous for incredibly energetic concerts and a unique Slavic-intergalactic sound that constantly evolves and surprises. Paprodziad’s lyrics require listeners to decipher their meaning. Costumes and stage performance create an incredible spectacle that you can see on 3 August!

Trivium will delight fans of heavier sounds and fierce guitar riffs. The Orlando, Florida outfit have released 7 studio albums and 19 singles to date, selling more than a million records worldwide. Metal experts have followed them closely for many years. Their success began with “Ascendancy”, named one of the year’s finest albums by Kerrang!. Its follow-up, “The Crusade”, won over audiences and entered Billboard’s Top 25. At Przystanek Woodstock 2017, they will mainly perform material from their latest album, “Silence in the Snow”, released in 2015. Their set is sure to be an incredible spectacle, so this is a band you simply cannot miss.

The first Main Stage day will close with an appearance by the excellent Mando Diao. Since 2002, the group have continually developed musically and redefined contemporary popular music. Mando Diao’s musicians seek their own inspirations, interests and visions, constantly setting new trends and discovering new directions on their musical journeys. Their songs contain folk and hip-hop motifs and even inspiration from classic Swedish poetry. Known for their classic rock ’n’ roll sound, their performances delight fans through rocket-fuelled energy and displays of vocal, musical and stage skills.

The Small Stage hosts artists of every kind. On the festival's first day, we will see Polish reggae trailblazer Mesajah, legendary rock band Oddział Zamknięty and rock’n’roll band Clock Machine with Igor Walaszek's energetic voice, among others.

The second day of Przystanek Woodstock 2017 will open on the Main Stage with Projekt Parabelum. Their music is described as electro rock’n’roll, featuring punk and progressive sounds alongside electronic elements. The combination is unconventional, and they give everything at their concerts, making them the ideal warm-up for a whole day of dancing.

On Friday, we will see House of Pain, reunited especially for the 25th anniversary of “Jump Around”. The musicians are embarking on a unique tour together. Audiences will certainly also hear other hits by the group, such as “Shamrocks and Sheningans” and “Put on Your S**t Kickers”. Their concert is an incredible treat for rap fans and a remarkable opportunity to see this line-up in Poland. These rebellious Irish-Americans began their musical adventure in 1991. Throughout that time, they maintained a strong position in the rap market. Their signature hit, “Jump Around”, is one of hip-hop’s most recognisable and popular tracks. We cannot wait for the chance to hear this group live!

At sunset, New Model Army will send the crowd’s temperature soaring. Their rich rhythm section, new-wave music and hard rock playing draw legions of fans. From the beginning, the British musicians have taken inspiration from northern soul and punk rock. Their search for a style has followed a winding path through numerous genres and subcultures, from post-punk and folk rock to metal and gothic music. This broad mix shows how comfortable they feel in many styles: they are truly independent, free and open to new sounds. They manage their own online presence, aware of the virtual world’s importance today. Every concert is an extraordinary performance that stays in the memory for a long time.

The Main Stage closes the day with The Bloody Beetroots Live, Italian DJ and producer Sir Bob Cornelius Rifo’s project. An incredible, unstoppable force awaits. Their compositions create extraordinary cohesion between electronics, dubstep, electro house and net rave, and superb guitar riffs completing the whole. They use instruments with total professionalism and awareness, unsurprising since the producer behind The Bloody Beetroots Live is a multi-instrumentalist. This performance perfectly crowns a Friday full of musical excitement.

On 4 August, the Small Stage invites you to concerts by Katowice's Hengelo, presenting modern rock influenced by 1980s synthesiser music; Germany's Annisokay, with heavy yet melodic metal; and Tabu, delivering energetic reggae, powerful brass and stage charisma, among others.

We will begin the final day of the 23rd Przystanek Woodstock with a Polish contribution from Nocny Kochanek. This band hardly needs an introduction: their heavy-metal sound, Krzysztof Sokołowski’s soprano vocals and humorous lyrics are already familiar to most fans of heavier music. Each of the band’s three albums has gone gold, while “Zdrajcy Metalu” earned platinum status. This performance will undoubtedly overflow with energetic emotion, drawing huge numbers of festivalgoers to the Main Stage.

Next comes the energy of reggae and the legendary DUB INC, one of Europe’s finest bands in the genre. They are renowned for incredibly energetic, exuberant performances, as we will surely discover on 5 August! Their diverse inspirations result in an original sound and an effortless interweaving of musical genres. They draw on traditional Eastern rhythms, rich reggae, contemporary hip-hop and electro-dub. This combination makes the band impossible to ignore, and Przystanek Woodstock 2017 will have the chance to experience the power of their energy live!

That day, we will also have the chance to see live what makes Polish group Domowe Melodie so avant-garde. Their satirical lyrics, free-flowing, danceable music and Justyna Chowaniak’s extraordinary vocals are a recipe for success. The band’s stage energy and colourful outfits catch everyone’s attention. Only positive energy radiates from the stage, and at every show you get the impression that they are grateful for every single person in the audience.

Frank Turner & The Sleeping Souls will close the 23rd Przystanek Woodstock. They create folk music with a punk edge, combining traditional folk and country with punk’s powerful, aggressive sound. Frank Turner is a lyricist and singer accompanied by instrumental band The Sleeping Souls. The Woodstock audience will have the chance to discover what this line-up can do live.

The Small Stage is small in name only, with just as much happening as on the Main Stage. On the final day, its acts will include Szczecin rock band Chorzy, known for their incredible onstage energy; punk rock outfit Dr. Misio, led by Arkadiusz Jakubik; and, to close, The Sixpounder, who will thrill us with their melodic metal.

As we have known for years, Przystanek Woodstock offers cultural attractions as well as music. Guests at the Academy of the Finest Arts will include Maciej Orłoś, Przemysław Kossakowski and Robert Biedroń. Throughout the festival grounds, participants will find plenty of food outlets capable of filling every hungry festivalgoer's stomach.
