GUITAR WORLD RECORD 2023 IN WROCŁAW’S OLD TOWN

THE 21st EDITION OF THE BIGGEST GUITAR CELEBRATION

This year's 21st Guitar World Record features no fewer than six stages. Guitar hits from across the decades will fill not only the Main Stage but also Antyradio's Stage beside the pillory, where Michael Angelo Batio, considered the world's fastest guitarist, will give a virtuoso display.

On Kuźnicza Street, winners of the “Twoje 5 minut sławy” auditions will perform, while guitar amplifiers can be tested in Solny Square. The youngest visitors will have their own Gitarlandia Stage outside the Garrison Church, and Proza club’s stage will host the masterful Pełech-Horna classical guitar duo and guitar workshops. In the Green Guitar Zone, visitors can charge their amplifiers by generating electricity on an eco-bike and view an outdoor exhibition of guitar-star portraits by Maciej Święty. The organisers encourage everyone to enter the annual competitions for a “guitar made from anything” and the wildest costume. The festival village in the Market Square, complete with concerts and a host of attractions, opens at 10:00 on 1 May.

To set a new Guitar World Record, we need 7676 guitars and you.

To play at the Guitar World Record, all you need is a guitar and knowledge of the five basic chords C/G/D/A/E required for Jimi Hendrix’s “Hey Joe”. Every type of guitar counts: acoustic, classical, electric and bass. Mandolins, banjos and ukuleles are also permitted. Participant registration begins at 10:00 at registration points in the Market Square. All formalities can be completed on site, with no advance application required. Bring an identity card, school ID or another document. You do not have to be an adult to play with us. Taking part in the Guitar World Record attempt is FREE!

At registration, you will receive a participant wristband and an official commemorative Record Holder Certificate 2023. T-shirts, other festival merchandise and discounted tickets for star concerts will also be available to purchase.
