Dope D.O.D. and “The Ugly EP”: rap, producers Black Sun Empire and guest Redman
They stormed onto the scene in 2011 with the video for “What Happened”. The clip received an incredible response from critics and audiences alike, also opening the way for collaborations with Sean Price and Simon Roofless. Fred Durst saw it too, and as a result Dope D.O.D. toured Europe with Limp Bizkit.
At this point, Dope D.O.D. have three albums to their name: their 2011 debut “Branded”, “Da Roach” from 2013 and “Master Xploder” from 2014. In February 2015, they released their latest material, “The Ugly EP”. Its producers included legendary drum ’n’ bass acts Black Sun Empire and Posij. Redman also makes a guest appearance. There is a Polish contribution too: Małpa, Miuosh and Wuzet can be heard on one track.
The group have already performed at major European festivals including Dour, Lowlands, Hip Hop Kemp, The Great Escape and Sziget, and American events SXSW and CMJ, as well as in clubs in major cities worldwide. In Poland, they appeared in 2015 at Hip Hop Projekt Ełk and Polish Hip Hop Festival in Płock. In winter 2016, the rappers will return to Poland for club shows in no fewer than six cities!
The band is currently working on new material, and the first results of its latest studio efforts can be expected towards the end of 2015.
