Selah Sue at City Sounds: a Belgian voice, new songs and a return to Wrocław
Selah Sue combines soul, funk and reggae with songs that began at the guitar. The announcement of the Belgian singer’s return to City Sounds at Eter brings new material together with the story of a debut featuring Nneka and Cee-Lo Green.
City Sounds is delighted to invite you to another concert by Belgium's Selah Sue, adored by Polish audiences! The concert, also featuring new songs from her forthcoming album, takes place on 27 May at Eter, ul. Kazimierza Wielkiego 19.
Selah Sue, whose real name is Sanne Putseys, is a soul music star described as Europe’s answer to Erykah Badu and Lauryn Hill.
Born in 1989, this striking young Belgian has become one of the music scene’s sensations in recent months thanks to her album “Raggamuffin”. Her outstanding singles “This World” and “Raggamuffin” have conquered European charts. Her superb blend of soul, funk, reggae, rock, hip-hop and pop even impressed Prince himself. Enchanted, he invited Selah Sue to support him in Antwerp, an offer she naturally accepted.
Major soul stars such as Nneka joined her in the studio for her debut album. Meshell Ndegeocello herself also assisted with production on “Mommy”, while Cee-Lo Green joined her for a duet on “Please”. Selah wrote most of the songs herself, composing the first ones at the age of 15 while accompanying herself on guitar! Music critics believe that Janelle Monae and M.I.A. have acquired a formidable rival for whom music knows no boundaries.
Selah Sue’s new album will be released on 30 March 2015.
