BOKKA and Baasch at Eter: ambitious pop, electronics and an aura of musical mystery
BOKKA and Baasch were announced for a shared evening at Eter. The programme pairs the anonymous band’s experimental pop with the electronics of the artist behind “Corridors”, exploring different ways to create atmosphere through voices, samples and synthesisers.

BOKKA will perform at Wrocław’s Eter club on 19 November 2015! The band, whose membership remains an absolute mystery, have taken ambitious pop to unprecedented heights while having a wonderful time, swiftly dominating the Polish music scene. After their legendary debut, the time has come for a new album, undoubtedly one of this year’s most eagerly awaited releases. Wrocław audiences will have the chance to hear the new material for the first time and take part in the sophisticated ritual that is every concert by this extraordinary group. Joining BOKKA will be Baasch, the electronic visionary who caused a stir in 2014 with his debut, “Corridors”.
BOKKA are undoubtedly the past decade’s biggest surprise on Poland’s music scene. They debuted in 2013 with the self-titled “BOKKA”, driven by unfettered imagination and experimental courage. Its superb, original compositions began with everyday sounds: a shaken water bottle, tissue and shoe boxes being struck, nuts dropped into a drum. When the modest video for “Town of Strangers” appeared online, a frenzy erupted: social networks and online media caught fire!
The project’s ultra-modern sound and air of mystery proved a perfect combination. No 2013 ranking was complete without BOKKA near the top. The band also won praise from the iconic Pitchfork website, an unprecedented event on the Polish scene. Then came fantastic live performances, both at major festivals — Open’er Festival, Audioriver, Tauron Nowa Muzyka, Męskie Granie and Britain’s The Great Escape — and in clubs large and small.
BOKKA's live incarnation could inspire an essay or a fantasy game. The trio, carefully preserving complete anonymity, connect effortlessly with their fans in a unique way. They can always surprise, sweep listeners along and stir emotion, which is what matters most in music.
Alongside BOKKA, the stage will welcome Baasch, a young producer and singer who began his musical career by composing the soundtrack for Tomasz Wasilewski’s acclaimed, multiple-award-winning “Płynące Wieżowce”. His debut EP, “Simple Dark & Romantic Songs”, with its cool synth-pop atmosphere, caused quite a stir on the Polish music scene. In March this year, he released “Corridors”, skilfully drawing on electronic music’s golden age. Echoes of dubstep and electropop, beautiful, captivating synthetic melodies colliding with sharp, dark bass, epic ballads and emotional vocals make this one of the finest releases from the excellent NEXTPOP label.
