Asaf Avidan at WrocLove Fest: the voice of “One Day/Reckoning Song” at the Congress Centre
Asaf Avidan gives folk-rock songs a distinctive, expressive voice. The announcement of his WrocLove Fest 2014 appearance introduces the artist behind “One Day/Reckoning Song” and the solo album “Different Pulses”, connecting his time with The Mojos to a new chapter.

Israeli musician Asaf Avidan, whose popularity is growing worldwide, will perform at the Wrocław Congress Centre on 25 June. His appearance will be part of WrocLove Fest 2014, held to celebrate Wrocław Day.
Asaf Avidan became well known in Poland and around the world through his hit “One Day/Reckoning Song”.
Wrocław audiences had the opportunity to appreciate the artist’s talent at last year’s Stage Songs Review, where his enthusiastically received concert proved one of the festival’s highlights.
Asaf Avidan is an Israeli singer and lyricist, often compared to Janis Joplin and Robert Plant, and frontman of folk-rock group Asaf Avidan & the Mojos. Born in Jerusalem in 1980, he spent his childhood in Jamaica, where his parents served in Israel’s diplomatic corps. He returned to Jerusalem to study at the Academy of Art. His graduation film, “Find Love Now”, won Haifa Film Festival.
Rather than directing, however, he chose to play in Asaf Avidan & the Mojos. With his colleagues, he achieved commercial success at home and in several Western European countries. He now performs mainly solo, accompanying himself on guitar. He has an extraordinary ability to write about experiences typical of someone his age: betrayal, separation, reconciliation and existential anxiety about himself and the world. Nature also gave him a distinctive, almost feminine voice, which he uses fantastically: Avidan’s singing contains hysteria, sadness and hope.
Asaf recorded his first release, featuring 6 tracks, in 2006. With his band, he recorded three albums: “The Reckoning” in 2008, PoorBoy/Lucky Man in 2009 and “Through the Gale” in 2010. He began a solo career the following year. In 2011, he shared a stage with stars including Robert Plant, Ben Harper and Lou Reed.
His solo album “Different Pulses” was released in 2013.
