“WWS combine electronic beats with a reggae bass pulse, Pomeranian psychedelia expressed through guitar, and the klezmer sounds of clarinet, melodica and accordion, enriched by spacious sound effects. For the musicians of WWS, the common denominator is dub, the Jamaican reggae genre that redefined production techniques across today’s music. The band have had the opportunity to support outstanding contemporary reggae and club artists, including Tribal Drift, Mad Professor, Zion Train and Dub Syndicate.”

“RMX-1000”, the group's fifth album, is an extraordinary summing-up of WWS's first decade. It features remixes made with numerous well-known figures from Poland's reggae/dub scene. The record is a powerful statement of a coherent sound, inspired by underground breakbeat and two-step and rooted in a thoroughly modern treatment of Slavic ethnic music.

For the project prepared for their spring concerts, WWS have another surprise in store: the remarkable voice of Iga Kazimierczyk, known for performing with Orkiestra Na Zdrowie, and entirely new material.

In the spirit of positive collisions between sounds and cultures, London DJ and selector Roots Hitek will take the stage. His sessions will feature his own productions, dubplates and roots reggae in its broadest sense, in counterpoint to All Sunrises Sound System, the dance incarnation of WWS, presenting a home-grown ethno-dub approach to the music.

At the concert you will find a 56 Infoshop stall with records, zines, merchandise and more; WWS’s latest album will also be available to buy.
