Wax Tailor at City Sounds: hip-hop, downtempo and “Dusty Rainbow From The Dark” live

He has collaborated with Aloe Blacc, released four acclaimed albums, played hundreds of sold-out concerts worldwide and become one of the most sought-after French artists. He comes to Poland for a series of concerts promoting his latest work, “Dusty Rainbow From The Dark”. You can see him in Wrocław with his full live line-up on 13 November!

Wax Tailor is the alias of French DJ JC Le Saout, who worked with La Formule in the 1990s. They parted ways at the beginning of the 21st century, and the talented producer decided to shine independently. His debut, “Tales of The Forgotten Melodies”, revealed a brilliant hunter of samples and musical quotations. Widespread comparisons to sampling masters such as RjD2, Bonobo and Blockhead proved entirely justified. Le Saout certainly possesses musical imagination and a talent for creating catchy motifs.

Wax Tailor's performances are explosive live events too. Le Saout's showmanship is undeniable. His skilful concert combination of scratching and live cello, violin and flute, with guest appearances by accomplished soul singers and rappers, guarantees unforgettable experiences.

Wax Tailor's success among fans of melodic sounds built on hip-hop rhythms continues to this day, as shown by his frequent appearances on Polish and international compilations such as Paris Indie Club, City Lounge and Nova Tunes. His music also features on radio stations specialising in chillout sounds, including Radio RAM, Chilli Zet and Radio PIN.

To date, JC Le Saout has worked with artists including Sharon Jones, Ursula Rucker, Keziah Jones, Aloe Blacc, Charlie Winston, Alice Russell, Charlotte Savary, A.S.M, Mattic, Archive, RJD2, DJ Format, DJ Vadim, General Elektriks and Daedelus.
