Smolik / Kev Fox: from their collaboration on “L.O.O.T.” to a joint album and the single “Run”
Smolik and Kev Fox develop a collaboration begun with “L.O.O.T.” through a shared album introduced by “Run”. Fox’s distinctive voice meets minimalist guitar and layered instrumentation, in a story that began with the artists’ curiosity about each other’s music.
Two individual talents share an incredible passion for crossing boundaries and discovering new artistic spaces. They met five years ago at a Warsaw concert and immediately shut themselves in a studio for several days to explore their mutual musical fascinations. The result was L.O.O.T., which appeared on SMOLIK's “4”.
Kev Fox remains surrounded by an air of mystery, rooted in the character of the music he composes. Given how frequently he performs in Poland, it is easy to conclude that this British artist has taken a liking to Polish audiences. Working with Smolik on “L.O.O.T”. only helped him carve out his own space in our music market.
KEV FOX and SMOLIK have now completed work on a joint album bearing their names. We will hear the results at their Wrocław concert. The album is due for release in the autumn. Its first single is “RUN”. Intricately crafted, melancholy melodies and FOX's unique, hypnotic, powerful voice, set against minimalist guitar sounds and the distinctive instrumental textures created by SMOLIK, will certainly take listeners on an extraordinary journey…
