Saschienne at City Sounds: Sascha Funke, Julienne Dessagne and romantic techno
Saschienne connects Sascha Funke’s club experience with Julienne Dessagne’s piano sensibility. The preview of the duo’s first Wrocław appearance at City Sounds introduced romantic techno and the debut “Unknown”, released by Kompakt.

Recording for Cologne’s cult KOMPAKT label, German-French duo Saschienne will make its first Wrocław appearance on the City Sounds club stage.
Saschienne can be described as an intensely personal project for several specific reasons. For the male half of the duo, it marks a symbolic return to KOMPAKT, the label that released his first 12-inch. For both, it is largely a meeting of two different musical worlds. For listeners, encountering their work feels a little like a controlled entry into the intimate sphere of partners still discovering one another.
HIM, Sascha Funke… A German producer. The creator of “Bravo” and “Mango”, two albums warmly received by fans of minimal sounds, and an energetic tech-house artist respected throughout Europe.
…+ HER, Julienne Dessagne… A French pianist and singer who enjoys exploring compositions by Philip Glass and Louis Sclavis, and has collaborated for years with the renowned clubs Optimo and Fabric.

They met two years ago, resulting in the debut “Unknown”, made for Michael Mayer’s own label. It was he who described their music as “new romantic techno”. This exceptionally sensual techno appealed to Polish audiences. Saschienne’s performance was widely discussed as one of the most interesting at this year’s Nowa Muzyka in Katowice. It is therefore with particular pleasure that we invite all club-music fans to encounter Saschienne in Wrocław’s refurbished Log:in club on 1 December!
