Sabaton at wROCK for Freedom 2016: Swedish metal and the opening of the Zajezdnia History Centre

SABATON will play at wROCK for Freedom 2016 in Wrocław!

Poland's most popular Swedes, the much-loved SABATON, will headline wROCK for Freedom 2016 at the legendary bus depot on ul. Grabiszyńska, where Wrocław's Solidarity movement was born in August 1980.

The festival takes place on the XXXVI anniversary of the foundation of the Independent Self-Governing Trade Union Solidarity and will celebrate the opening of Centrum Historii Zajezdnia at this historic site.

Join us in Wrocław on 29 August, one of the final days of the summer holidays.

Polish artists will perform alongside Sabaton; we will announce them soon.

Ticket sales begin on 25 February, with tickets available through Empik, Saturn and MediaMarkt stores across Poland.

SABATON (Sweden), heavy metal, power metal

Music’s coolest history teachers will once again deliver a lesson in Poland, one certain to include Polish themes. Attendance compulsory! Sabaton’s love for Polish fans is immense and mutual. A beautiful expression was the Swedes’ DVD recorded before more than half a million people at Przystanek Woodstock. Yet every visit to Poland, even for a club concert, is special. One reason is, of course, the Polish subjects in the Falun band’s work. “40:1”, describing the Battle of Wizna, has already become legendary among Polish fans, as has “Uprising”, about the Warsaw Uprising.

The Swedish band's next visit to Poland will promote the excellent “Heroes”. It includes another Sabaton song about Polish history, “Inmate 4859”, dedicated to cavalry captain Witold Pilecki.

It will certainly be heard at the concert, alongside other excellent tracks by this distinguished heavy-metal outfit.
