Port-Royal at City Sounds: Italian indie electronica with a guest appearance by Natalia Grosiak
Port-Royal builds nostalgic indie electronica from reverberation and blurred sounds, drawing comparisons with Mogwai and M83. The City Sounds concert preview introduced the Italian group and a guest appearance by Wrocław’s Natalia Grosiak.

City Sounds invites you to a concert by one of Europe’s finest indie-electronic bands, Italy’s Port-Royal. Natalia Grosiak, representing Wrocław’s scene, will also be a guest that evening.
Port-Royal is an Italian music project whose members come from Genoa. Despite those origins, they are often associated with Iceland's cold, nostalgic atmosphere, leading most fans and critics to compare them with Mogwai, Sigur Ros and M83.
Port-Royal's music is an exceptionally intense dose of fleeting sounds, filled with reverb, blurring and constant experimentation. Electronic beats form a framework for sounds familiar from Brian Eno or Soul Whirling Somewhere.
In 2006, the band gained international recognition and received invitations to numerous festivals, including Bologna’s Netmage Festival and Saint-Malo’s Route de Rock. To mark their 10th anniversary, the Italians teamed up with n5MD and released the double album “2000–2010: The Golden Age Of Consumerism”. Featuring more than 3 hours of music, the release brings together Port-Royal's best tracks and remixes.
