INTRODUCING THE FIRST STARS OF WROCŁAW’S 3-MAJÓWKA 2025!

We are delighted to announce the first artists for the next 3-Majówka in Wrocław! Our stages will welcome KULT, KSU, LEMON, IRA and the unique NOSOWSKA/KRÓL duo. This is only a preview: further musical surprises will be revealed soon! For years, 3-Majówka has opened Poland’s outdoor festival season. During the long May weekend, music lovers from across the country meet in Wrocław to celebrate with rock legends, hit-making artists and young talents.

OPENING THE SUMMER FESTIVAL SEASON

This year’s musical celebration runs from 1–3 May 2025. As every year, the festival will take place in the unique Pergola grounds beside the Centennial Hall, surrounded by Poland’s largest multimedia fountain, the outdoor stage, the iconic UNESCO-listed Centennial Hall and the Conference Centre’s club space. The hugely popular Silent Disco will also return, transforming the grounds after dark into a party oasis full of positive energy.

KULT

An iconic Polish rock band founded in Warsaw in February 1982 by Kazik Staszewski and Piotr Wieteska, who had previously played in Poland, one of the country's first punk bands. From the outset, Kult had a unique style combining rock, punk, reggae and jazz, with lyrics addressing important social and political issues.

They debuted on 7 July 1982 at Warsaw's Remont club. A breakthrough came in 1986 with the release of “Do Ani”, one of their first major hits. They released their debut album, “Kult”, the following year, and “Spokojnie” in 1988, featuring the immortal “Arahja”.

The band became known for their anti-establishment message and energetic concerts. Their discography includes numerous cult records, such as “Tata Kazika” (1993), “Ostateczny krach systemu korporacji” (1998) and “MTV Unplugged” (2010), which established them as one of the most important bands in Polish music history. Kult continue touring and recording new albums, remaining a symbol of independence and rebellion on the Polish music scene.

NOSOWSKA/KRÓL

Known for their numerous collaborations on stage and in the studio, the artists present their first joint album, “Kasia i Błażej”. This special project grew out of their friendship and artistic chemistry, featuring 11 songs full of emotion, tenderness and minimalist simplicity. The album was preceded by the singles “Można”, “Wanna” and “Błyszcz”, acclaimed by critics and listeners alike. A tour begins in autumn, and the album is already available to buy and on streaming platforms.

Katarzyna Nosowska is one of Poland's most distinctive musical figures: a singer, lyricist and writer whose work has delighted audiences for years with its authenticity. Błażej Król, a musician, composer and singer, is unquestionably one of the brightest stars of Poland's alternative scene, constantly pushing his creative boundaries.

In 2023, they had already demonstrated how perfectly they complement one another artistically in “MĘSKIE GRANIE PRZEDSTAWIA: NOSOWSKA – KRÓL”, performing covers including Nirvana's “Smells Like Teen Spirit” and Young Leosia's “Szklanki”. That autumn, they released the joint single “Neodym”, heralding their collaborative album.

“Kasia i Błażej” invites listeners into an unfiltered world full of humour, moving moments and authentic emotion. This musical conversation balances warmth and melancholy, combining simplicity with depth. The artists say it resembles a soft blanket: warm, enveloping and ideal for listening closely to every note. It is for discerning listeners yet accessible to anyone valuing music straight from the heart. This album must be heard from beginning to end.

LEMON

Legend has it that LemON were born immediately after Igor Herbut, a jazz-vocals student raised in a Lemko family, received a phone call telling him he had qualified for “Must Be The Music. Tylko muzyka”. Together with his cousin Adam Horoszczak, Igor surprised the Wrocław casting panel by performing with only a classical guitar. Their emotional rendition caught the judges’ attention and opened the door to the next stage of their journey.

When it came to preparing for the main auditions, Igor decided to expand the line-up. Ukrainian violinist Andrzej Olejnik, drummer Piotr Budniak, bassist Piotr Kołacz and guitarist Demian Gela joined the band. As the leader recalls: “We met as a full line-up for the first time at the audition in Warsaw. It was incredibly exciting.”

Their performance of “Litaj Ptaszko”, an emotional ballad sung in Lemko, captivated the judges and secured a semi-final place. There, LemON presented another original song, “Dewiat”, winning the hearts of audiences and judges and taking the band to the final and eventual victory in the programme's third edition.

Following their victory in “Must Be The Music”, LemON began an intensive concert schedule. Their appearances included Sopot Top Trendy and Sopot Festival 2012, where they captivated audiences with their interpretation of The Beatles' “All You Need Is Love”.

In autumn 2012, the band released their first single, “Będę z Tobą”, followed shortly by a full-length debut that won listeners' hearts. LemON quickly earned recognition as one of Poland's most original, emotional bands, combining pop, folk and alternative elements.

Today, LemON symbolises musical authenticity, emotional expression and extraordinary stage energy that moves audiences at every performance.

KSU

KSU's name comes from the old vehicle registration code for Ustrzyki Dolne, where it all began in 1977. They are among the most important bands in Polish punk history, delighting fans for more than 40 years with uncompromising authenticity.

The founders, young guitar music enthusiasts, initially experimented with covers of classic rock songs. Yet the simpler, more direct punk rock became their natural choice. The first line-up included singer Eugeniusz “Siczka” Olejarczyk, saxophonist Bogdan “Bohun” Augustyn and bassist Lesław “Plaster” Tomków.

Their first breakthrough came in 1980, when they performed at the I National New Wave Review in Kołobrzeg. Their music reached a wider audience then, even attracting interest from a German record label, although no contract was ultimately signed.

KSU's debut album, “Pod prąd”, released in 1988, was a breakthrough. Its songs reached radio stations and earned the band wider recognition. Its success led quickly to the next release, “Ustrzyki”, promoted by the group's first professional video.

KSU nevertheless faced numerous problems, including constant line-up changes and compulsory military service for the band members. Despite the difficulties, in the 1990s the group began building a more stable position on the music scene.

IRA

IRA, the Polish rock band founded in Radom in 1987 by guitarist Kuba Płucisz, is an icon of the country's music scene. The band debuted in 1989 with “Ira”, which attracted moderate interest. It was later records, such as “Mój dom” (1993) and the live album “Ira Live”, that brought greater success and secured their place among Poland's leading rock bands.

IRA gained recognition through appearances at prestigious festivals including Jarocin, Przystanek Woodstock and Festiwal Odjazdy. Their songs regularly featured on Polish Radio Three's chart. In May 1994, IRA had the honour of supporting Aerosmith in Warsaw, one of the most important events in the band's history.

Experiments with sound resulted in “Znamię” (1994), introducing thrash metal elements. Although not every fan liked this direction, the next album, “Ogrody” (1995), returned to their earlier style. In 1996, however, after founder Kuba Płucisz left, IRA suspended their activities.

After a six-year break, IRA returned to the stage in 2001 with renewed energy and a refreshed sound. Since then, they have released further studio albums and an anniversary live record documenting their 15th birthday. IRA received Fryderyk nominations in 2002 and 2004, and supported Def Leppard at their Polish concerts in 2003.

With 12 studio albums, countless hits and thousands of concerts to their name, IRA remain one of Poland's most important and admired rock bands. Their distinctive sound, charisma and live energy continually attract new generations of fans. Dynamic performances and a rich musical history make IRA an undeniable icon of Polish rock.
