On 15 November 2015, episode 11 of Nut Ferment took place at Scena Ciśnień in Wrocław’s Capitol Musical Theatre. Konrad Imiela hosted the meeting, with live performances interspersed with conversation.

Each guest performed songs from their own repertoire and interpreted a piece associated with another participant. Passing songs between the artists brought different voices, instruments and approaches to the same stage.

The opening song

The title song “Nut Ferment” was performed by Magdalena Śniadecka-Skrzypek. Tomasz Leszczyński composed the music and Konrad Imiela wrote the lyrics.

Peter J. Birch

Peter J. Birch is the stage name of singer and guitarist Piotr Jan Brzeziński, whose music draws on folk and country. He had performed extensively in Europe, both solo and with a band. Here he used voice and guitar to connect his own songs with Tercet Egzotyczny’s repertoire.

The set included “Gallants” and “Everyday Chances”. The exchange added “Turystyczny rejs”, from the repertoire of Tercet Egzotyczny.

Tercet Egzotyczny

Founded in 1963, Tercet Egzotyczny is associated with Izabella Skrybant-Dziewiątkowska, a distinctive stage presentation and Latin American influences. Janusz Konefał and Włodzimierz Krakus were among its musicians at the time. The exchange connected this tradition with Peter J. Birch and the rock band aTOM.

The set included “Noc w Ekwadorze” and “Pijmy za miłość”. The exchange added “Jak tam jest?”, from the repertoire of aTOM.

aTOM

aTOM was the Wrocław rock quartet of Tomasz Bednarek, Samuel Gajewski, Daniel Kulik and Jonasz Szczeniowski. Its debut “Przypuszczam, że wątpię” was recorded at Custom 34 Studio with producer Robert “Litza” Friedrich. Guitar harmonies and lyrics were central to the group’s approach.

The set included “Blisko” and “Zobacz”. The exchange added “I’ve Got This Train”, from the repertoire of Peter J. Birch.
