Madison McFerrin at Stary Klasztor: her own voice in the world of “soulappella”
Madison McFerrin builds her own songwriting world around the voice and a renewed a cappella approach described as “soulappella”. The Stary Klasztor concert announcement focuses on the American artist’s music alongside her family connection to Bobby McFerrin.

Madison McFerrin, a rising ‘soulappella’ star and Bobby McFerrin’s daughter, will perform in Wrocław this autumn. Join us on 23 October at the Gothic Hall in Stary Klasztor for her first concert in the city.
This is a breakthrough moment for Brooklyn’s Madison McFerrin! Prestigious Pitchfork devoted a major feature to her, declaring: “Madison makes a cappella cool again”, while The Roots’ brilliant Questlove called her music “soulappella”. The New York Times also published a substantial article on Bobby’s talented daughter. In Europe, influential fans Gilles Peterson and Jamie Cullum regularly play her songs on BBC programmes.
The singer follows her legendary father and talented brother Taylor, recently in R+R Now. In concert and on two EPs, “Finding Foundations Vol 1/ Vol 2”, she demonstrates the human voice’s extraordinary versatility. Yet Madison’s music offers more than wonderful vocal displays: taste, atmosphere and excellent compositions are equally important. She recently presented “Try”, produced by Taylor McFerrin, on the popular Colors channel. She also impressed at Katowice’s Tauron Nowa Muzyka.
Everything suggests young McFerrin’s career is gathering momentum, and the October performances may be the last chance to see Madison at intimate club concerts.
