Leszek Możdżer and Motion Trio: piano and three accordions at Ethno Jazz Festival
Leszek Możdżer and Motion Trio were announced in a meeting of piano and three accordions at Ethno Jazz Festival. The programme paired an openness to improvisation with music by Janusz Wojtarowicz’s trio, drawing on jazz, contemporary composition and heavier sounds.

Two world-class stars, unpredictable improvisers open to musical experimentation, will share a stage on 26 February 2012. Their joint Ethno Jazz Festival 2012 concert could become one of the coming season's most important musical events!
Motion Trio
An accordion trio founded in 1996 by Janusz Wojtarowicz, its leader and principal composer. A phenomenon in European and international music, Motion Trio transform the accordion's image through their own music. Their concerts are musical spectacles with action and drama.
Motion Trio is an original, exceptional group in every respect. Unfortunately, that individuality means the ensemble attracts more interest abroad than in Poland.
Motion Trio perform on accordions that become instruments of virtually inexhaustible possibility in their hands. Their repertoire goes beyond accordion classics: they experiment, generating contemporary sounds and turning performances into intricate spectacles. There is something in their music that makes accordions — which, let us be honest, are not instruments usually held in exceptional regard — draw crowds to concerts.

The group have boldly explored, and continue to explore, collaborations with major musicians including Krzysztof Penderecki, Bobby McFerrin, Tomasz Stańko, Leszek Możdżer and Józef Skrzek. Motion Trio say of themselves: “We're equally passionate about heavy metal, jazz and contemporary music.”
Leszek Możdżer
Leszek Możdżer needs no introduction. One of Polish jazz's greatest revelations, a pianist of the highest calibre and an outstanding improviser — in a word, a world-class master of the most universal language of human communication: music. He has received countless prestigious awards and performed in almost every European country, as well as the USA, Canada, Brazil, Uruguay, Argentina, Chile, China, Japan, Malaysia and Singapore.
Leszek Możdżer has collaborated with most of Poland's outstanding jazz musicians, including Tomasz Stańko, Janusz Muniak, Michał Urbaniak and Anna Maria Jopek, as well as international stars such as Marcus Miller, David Gilmour, Lester Bowie and Lars Danielsson.
He has also devoted a substantial chapter of his musical career to numerous theatre productions.
The last Wrocław performance on the tour promoting an album of interpretations of Krzysztof Komeda’s pieces once again demonstrated the greatness of Możdżer’s talent.
