Juwenalia in Wrocław 2010: two May weekends and concerts at Pola Marsowe

7 AND 8 AND 14 AND 15 MAY 2010

“Juwenalia would make no sense without concerts at Pola Marsowe! Over two weekends, our Juwenalia stage and special music zones will host dozens of Polish artists representing different genres and styles,” announce the Juwenalia 2010 organisers.

The music begins on 7 May with a powerful opening: the already legendary KULT, POGODNO, KONIEC ŚWIATA, GRUBSON and 3ODA KRU launch the concert marathon.

The 8 May event brings together the younger generation — VAVAMUFFIN, MESAJAH and ABRADAB — and veterans of Polish stages, VOO VOO and LADY PANK.

After this opening to the main celebrations, we will have the chance to relax and enjoy Wittigalia and Ekonomalia, before 13 May finally brings the eagerly awaited Juwenalia Parade. As usual, we will set off from Wybrzeże Wyspiańskiego and head to the Olympic Stadium. There, we will receive the keys to the city from the Mayor, before moving on to Pola Marsowe, where HOPE, BETHEL, HABAKUK, PAPRIKA KORPS and headliners T.LOVE will keep us entertained until late.

The most interesting evening, however, probably awaits us on 14 May. World music will feature at Juwenalia for the first time. We will see and hear Balkan music performed live by BALKAN SEVDAH, then take a Celtic-Irish journey with BELTAINE and CARRANTUOHILL. Immediately afterwards, KAPELA ZE WSI WARSZAWA will engulf the stage in highland-rock energy. The finale brings an incredible, colourful show straight from Rio De Janeiro by Europe’s best-known Cuban artist, REI CEBALLO, and CALLE SOL. Fantastic salsa and rumba sounds will be accompanied by a colourful revue from AFRO CARNAVAL.
