Julia Marcell at City Sounds: the “June” farewell tour and an original world of lyrical punk
Julia Marcell’s City Sounds announcement closes the touring chapter of “June” while adding new songs to the programme. Lyrical punk, work with producer Moses Schneider and Berlin recordings provide the setting for an album recognised with Paszport Polityki and a Fryderyk.

City Sounds invites you to the final farewell tour for Julia Marcell’s “June” project. She won the Paszport Polityki 2012 for Popular Music and the Fryderyk 2012 for Alternative Music. In autumn 2012, the “KONIEC CZERWCA…” tour will offer a final chance to hear the warmly received songs from “June”. We will also hear several entirely new tracks for the first time, likely to appear on Julia’s next album.
Julia Marcell’s music is sometimes called lyrical punk, although it eludes any rigid classification. A singer, pianist, composer and lyricist, she lives in Germany. She began attracting attention in 2007, when internet supporters helped her raise $50,000 to release her first album, recorded in Berlin and produced by Moses Schneider. Her second album, “June”, co-produced by Moses Schneider, was released in October 2011.
