The 28-year-old artist is halfway through her musical career. At 15 she signed with a major record label and released her debut, “The Soul Sessions”, a year later. Her albums have sold more than 14 million copies worldwide. She has won the prestigious British Brits award and received a Grammy nomination.

Her musical success opens the way for a new generation of British soul artists. This entirely self-written record, released by new label Stone'd Records/Essential Music, undoubtedly departs from Stone’s previous productions. It enters unexplored territory, enriched with reggae and hip-hop. Working with Nitin Sawney, Damian Marley and Dennis Bovell, Joss created an original musical mixture. The album developed over the past four years, drawing on her worldwide travels and emotional adventures.

Joss Stone's musical revolution can be traced to the joint New York project SuperHeavy, featuring Mick Jagger, Dave Stewart and A. R. Rahman, among others. Stone also worked with Jamaican star Damian Marley on the project.

Joss says: “I've always loved reggae. Damian gave me the confidence to walk boldly through that door.” 'Water For Your Soul' is the fruit of their shared journey through reggae sounds. Pulsing between reggae rhythms, the album combines hip-hop with exotic world music sounds, also delivering emotional R'n'B bass.

The record also contains the gentle soul sounds characteristic of the artist. “It's really a combination of all the things I like,” Joss explains. “Water For Your Soul” reflects a new stage in Joss Stone's career. It will certainly win her many new fans and enchant admirers of her work worldwide.
