Glen Hansard and “Didn’t He Ramble”: The Frames musician brings his solo album to Poland
Glen Hansard begins his Polish tour on 29 February at Stary Klasztor's Gothic Hall as part of City Sounds. He visits our country to promote his latest album, “Didn't He Ramble”, released in September.

In 2006, Glen Hansard appeared in the film “Once”. Together with his co-star, Czech singer Marketa Irglova, he won an Oscar in 2007 for a song from the film. It proved a turning point in his life, bringing him recognition beyond his homeland. Following the success of “Once” and its soundtrack, Hansard and Irglova formed The Swell Season, whose albums were received enthusiastically by both the music community and fans.
2015 brought the release of Glen Hansard’s second solo album. “Didn't He Ramble” came out on 18 September through Anti-Records. Following the success of his first release, 2012’s “Rhythm and Repose”, fans around the world had been waiting for new material. “Didn't He Ramble” is the result of two years of recording in studios in Chicago, New York and France, making it, in a sense, an album created on the road. Hansard was helped with production by Thomas Bartlett, known for his work with The National and Sufjan Stevens, and his old friend David Odlum, with whom he played in The Frames. Echoes of north Dublin and old-school gospel-soul run through the record, alongside the simple, beautiful melodies that fans love in Hansard’s music. There are guest appearances too, including John Sheahan of The Dubliners and Sam Beam of Iron and Wine.
