FISZ EMADE TWORZYWO AT ZAKLĘTE REWIRY

They were the first to bring soft sounds and lyrics to Polish hip-hop at such a high level, drawing at the time on the atmosphere of Native Tongues. From then until now, the brothers have constantly experimented, while seeking to ensure that all their inventions share one ingredient: high quality and commitment.

Live, they perform as FISZ EMADE TWORZYWO in a much-expanded line-up supported by outstanding musicians. Their 2014 album “Mamut” is one of the band’s greatest achievements. Named album of the year by many music journalists, it went platinum and won the 2015 Fryderyk for Electronic/Indie/Alternative Album of the Year. A compilation of the band’s recordings, looking back over Fisz Emade’s work from 2000 to 2011, was released on 9 March.

This was a time when Tworzywo's albums were dominated by rap and narrative songs, less melodic and songful than their later work. Often long monologues, the reflective lyrics were full of perspective and humour, narrative forms perfectly capturing the musical atmosphere of the 1990s, when hip-hop was nothing short of revolutionary for the brothers.

“Although I find it hard to define the genre of music we make today, there's no doubt it wouldn't sound like this, and perhaps we wouldn't be on the music scene at all, without 90s hip-hop and the music of groups such as Tribe Called Quest and BEASTIE BOYS,” says Fisz.
